Best zone running teams in KY
What schools are the best zone blocking teams in KY. I'm talking inside zone+stretch. Also which schools run option off of it?

Is Leon Hart out at Ashland?
Congrats to Coach Hart and best wishes with his parents health. In my 15 or so years coaching around 1/2 KY + Huntington Coach Hart is one of the classiest coaches I've met. Coach Love + Coach Tackett are two great coaches on that staff! Coach Preece

Lawrence County 42 Prestonsburg 41
HUGE win for the LC program playing a lot of young guys! Pretty sure LC was up 34-14. PBurg clawed back took lead around 50 sec 41-34. Cyrus hit Prince on long pass to 11. Cyrus hit OBrian for TD w 5 sec left. Goble ran in conversion to win 42-41!! That's 1 heck of an emotional game especially w so many Freshmen etc playing! Congrats to Coach Cecil for battling the adversity and winning a huge game for the program! Congrats to PBurg who brings it every week every year! Sounds like neither team quit!

4A #6 Ashland at George Washington (WV) predictions
It will be an interesting game for sure. Ashland is around the top teams in EKY. GW #1 in WV led by UNC RB Switzer+UNC Charlotte FB/LBer Crouser. Switzer went out w a concussion/shoulder last week supposedly. Totally different team without him. In regular season+scrimmage he's scoring about ever 2nd time he touches the ball! Freak speed! I'd love to see Ashland beat them and think they are very capable.

Lexington Catholic 21 Bell County 7
Congrats to Coach Letton, the rest of the staff the kids and Lex Cath! Makes me smile seeing Sam Letton had a TD. He was a tough big kid when I left there. He's going to be a fun kid to follow the next 4 years! Glad to see the Knights get out of the gates strong especially holding Bell Co to 7 points!

Trinity's RB Dawkins Now a 4 star player
Montrell Jones WR went to Tenn then UofL. Without looking I'd say he's 1-3 in almost every receiving category in state history. Sergio Spencer UofL I think. Casey Shmute Uk. Seems like there was another maybe a Green. I think you could make an argument Bush is the best athlete ever out of KY. Don't have his stats from that state championship game but I think he threw for over 400, rushed for close to 100 and received for close to 100 in the state championship game vs Trinity! He was up for or won Mr Basketball. Rumor was he could sling a baseball around 90 too!

Bill Mike Runyon named Head Coach at Paintsville
Not parent driven. That's all a conspiracy too.

Bill Mike Runyon named Head Coach at Paintsville
That's all rumors. I've got family playing and coaching there. It had zero to do with the Administration. Outsiders started the conspiracy theory that they ran the coaches off for BM to get the job. The reality is it' was Keith Adkins job but he stayed at Cviile. BMR has been one of the best basketball coaches in the states history. I'm estatic that my nephew gets to play for him and he is too. He is a disciplinarian that knows the attitude it takes to win and accepts nothing less. He had planned on doing just football but things worked out and he's doing both this year. No talk has been made about the next year doing both. Paintsville has a great young group of talent. They started 3 8th graders last year that won even in the post season. That group of baseball + football both went to state. The future is bright at one of the best academic schools in the state. The team will be led by Sr Trevor Tiller who is one of the most athletic kids in the state and is an outstanding kid/leader too! He will play at the next level if he wants too.

Our friend Alabama Larry has passed.
WOW I've been off BGP awhile. Finally got a new Mac. Shocked by the news. He was one guy I always loved reading because he was passionate in his conviction and beliefs. He stood by his values. Takes a lot of the burden off knowing he's with a God he loved so much and pretty cool he left this Earth a National Champ with arguably the best defense in history! Wonder if The Bear was there to great him with a big smile? If somebody can change my avatar I'm in. Also shoot me a pm about what the fund is and where to send money. Love this community we have!

Morgan County Football getting new facility
No but I hope it's true. There's no school in KY that has been through more. That communitty needs every bit of positive energy and small wins of hope+a future that it can get. It will never be the same there good or bad.

Belfry 2012
Stay healthy. Best team in their class I think. Should be scary good! I'll be interested to see how their TE developes. He had a D1 looking body last year I thought. HUGE!

Mike Fields' Sweet Sixteen primer
I love it! I coached Brett+Kyle with Rob in middle school football. Troy was about knee high. He would always come too their football practice with a headband on and basketball under his arm! I couldn't wait to see how he turned out in high school. What an AWESOME family! In my 15-20 years of coaching I'm not sure I've been around a better family! Good luck Troy!!!

Lincoln County 73 Magoffin County 59
Great season Magoffin Co. That group of girls have been through more than most adults will ever realize. They brought a lot of joy to a town that was devestated by the tornado. I live in Louisa+have a niece that plays for Paintsville. I know all of us up and down US 23 are very proud of you girls!

Four classes could return.

Apple, Swing and a miss! 4s but no iPhone5!
I would wait. My iphone 3 held up much better than this 4S. I wanted to wait for the 5 but ran out of memory.

How to beat Trinity and Highlands.
Top notch staff across the board. Total support from administration. Lots of depth. Lots of speed. Balanced Offense. Great up front on both sides. Great kicking game. Some breaks. Turnovers. Multiple defense that can disguise+mix fronts/coverage.

2011 KHSAA 6A State Championship: Trinity 62 Scott County 21
Congrats on the way you have represented our state. Congrats to Scott Co too! This is a great picture in that is shows the attention to detail Trinity plays with. That is picture perfect ball security on a breakaway run!

2011 KHSAA 3A State Championship: Central 15 Belfry 14
Watusi you guys have a right to be proud. If I could model a program after any school in the mountains it would be Belfry. You guys do things top notch! Fans, coaches, kids, facilities, physicallity, acting like you've been there before etc. There isn't a program in the mountains that does it with any more class. This thread shows a prime example of why you all are so respected + another program isn't. Congrats again to Belfry+Central! Nice to see the two best programs in 3A battle it out too the end! Both teams, fans etc have a lot to be proud of the way you handle winning+losing!

2011 KHSAA 3A State Championship: Central 15 Belfry 14
You would think that they would do better with their best player. That's common sense. Still doesn't take away from what Belfry did today. Everybody around Belfry I know has been waiting for next year so I think they are pretty happy there. I don't think him being in our out made a difference in shutting Bell Co out or Beflry's ability to pound on you then hit you deep. We played Belfry twice this year. They are a VERY physical football team so I think it's kind of naive to discredit how physical their defense is. Solid up front. 2 safeties that get downhill. Stud LBers etc. Wouldn't at all be suprised to see these two at it again next year in the championship game! Football's a physical game. I would take a guess that Belfry had kids playing hurt or not playing because of injuries. That's football in Dec! Congrats to both teams. They both really have it going on with their programs.

2011 KHSAA 3A State Championship: Central 15 Belfry 14
I was totally off this year. I told everybody I thought Belfry would lose by 30 to Central + 20 to Bell. Belfry played Central way closer than Bell and proved their case that they are clearly the 2nd best team in 3A. Congrats to Central. Coach Scroggins has done a great job there. Congrats to Belfry! Everybody I know around there thought next year was going to be their year. Belfry preseason #1 next year IMO in 3A.
