Bell County 21 Knox Central 7

Featured Replies

Saw the end of the game on the internet. KC had a chance to make it interesting late but Bell's defense should get the credit on a great stop on 4th and 2.

Congrats to the Bobcats.

I'm disappointed in the loss but this was a big time game, an unreal atmosphere, and two very good football teams who stood toe to toe and slugged it out. Bell County has a great football team and while everyone brags about their offense (which is excellent), I was impressed most with their defense. Definitely a championship caliber team. I look forward to a rematch in the Regional finals.

Good game tonight CATS......Knox has a real good football team. Hope to see a rematch of these teams in the playoffs.

I think that we will meet again. Congrats to the Bobcats.

Yes my friend i do expect to see Bell and Knox play again.

There is no doubt to me that this was most attended sporting event ever to take place in Barbourville, Kentucky. An hour before gametime all the parking lots were full, all the grassy areas, and cars were being directed onto the practice field down by the highway at least a quarter mile from the stadium. Tailgate parties were everywhere and it was SRO everywhere inside and outside the stadium. The hitting on the field was spectacular and it was just big play followed by big play. Again, terribly disappointed in the loss but I have never witnessed neither the atmosphere nor the play that I saw that night. Big time high school football has arrived at Knox Central. I was most pleased at the sportmanship. I felt a feeling of mutual respect as both teams met at midfield after the game. Did anyone see the highlights on Sports Overtime last night? I thought you got a small taste of what it was like out there last night.

Well, KC will have the hard road now but honestly, I'm looking forward to a rematch with a fine Lawrence County team.

I liked this quote from Coach Hilton. He is referring to a halfback pass that Bell used.

“I’ll tell you what, it’s hard running it against this team,” Hilton said. “Bryan Thacker made an unbelievable catch right there in the middle of the field. He’s made several big-time plays for us.

“We’ve got to stop calling those junk plays and play ball the Bell County way. But they made us do some things we didn’t want to do and I give them a lot of credit.”

Must have been a very good game. I wish I could have seen it.

Bell's the number 1 team in the state and it's good to see Knox get some credit because they are not only legit this year they were last year too. They have a nice team and are well coached. Congrats to the Bobcats it sounds like it was a great Fri night atmosphere.

I would go back even a year further IMO. 2008 was when they played the Bobcats so close and had a chance to win a big playoff game.
