Who benefits / suffers the most from the new alignment?

Featured Replies

Some teams are happy this morning, and some are crying.

Who stands to benefit the most from their new alignment?

Who stands to suffer the most from their new alignment?

Not Counting the issue with T and X being in the same 6A district...

Raceland, Hazard and Fairview have to be smiling a little.

Holmes takes it on the chin.

All of 6 A sould be happy except the Super District.

Class A east should be real happy.

Franklin County should be dancing.

Western Hills should be shaking their heads.

Next year, I think Bowling Green is a huge beneficiary. One of their chief rivals in the region was moved down (Owensboro), and of course the big bad wolf of Highlands was moved down, with most of any power teams in the east as well. Bowling Green was targeting 2011 regardless of whether Highlands was there - now they will be significant favorites.

Pulaski County has to be doing the bunny hop today. :bunny: With Highlands and Johnson Central exiting 5A.

Also West and East Jessamine moving up to 5A and trading Boyle County and Lexington Catholic for Franklin, Woodford, and Montgomery County.

East Ridge has to be on a downer.

They have always had to deal with Belfry and Sheldon Clark and Pike County Central.

But being in a 4 team district they still had a guaranteed playoff spot.

Now you throw in Lawrence County to the district and the post season looks unlikely for the Warriors.

Simon Kenton although they now have to travel benifits from the realignment...They have proven that their current district is no longer challenging to them and they have caught onto the vanilla schemes that they run year in and year out...SK will now face new schemes with better athletes which will prepare them more for the playoffs...Also dominating Lexington will spread the word of them becoming a powerhouse to a new area because in the next few years nky would have finally caught onto it anyways...Maybe the new district can give SK a chance to play their starters for an entire game!

.....:D

Bardstown can't be too thrilled with this one in 2AD4. CAL and DeSales are very solid programs, and Fort Knox and Washington Co. seem to be emerging.

District 4 - Bardstown, Christian Academy-Louisville, DeSales, Fort Knox, Shawnee, Washington County

Nelson Co. caught a break that could help them weather the enrollment hits from the new Thomas Nelson HS, losing the trip to G'wood and replacing it with a struggling Dunbar. They'll have to start dropping in class in 2013.

Can only shake my head at the arrogance.

Facts are facts SK is beginning to own their current district and that cant help you come playoff time...Although Lexington schools always underachieve they play a style more similar too what SK will see against the Louisville schools in the playoffs...

Walton and Brossart were likely to by pass the three river schools in class A so those three (Bellevue Dayton and Ludlow) have to love them going to 2A........................Of course for Walton and Brossart going in with NCC and Holy Cross is not good.
