Holmes-Rice, Palmer, Coston Dixie-Pike, Hatton

Rate the teams in the 9th Region next year.
He is the type of player that takes teams like Butler and VCU to the final four by the time they are seniors...For example Shelvin Mack even though he and Gray are different types of players...He could also play at NKU but they always miss on the Holmes kids...

Gray is a late bloomer and would be a steal at a low level D1after redshirting his freshman year imo

Spring practice quickly approaching.....not soon enough
I've heard from a former Birdie with ties now to SK that the Neers will have a legit squad this year and the post Lawrence era is looking bright...

Boone County 72 Holmes 60
Couldn't agree more...Rowan Co. would lay the wood to Boone, Holmes could have beat them had they laid back and stopped pressing it killed them...I have never seen a team like Boone they get probably 85 percent of their baskets from within 5 feet...Not to complain about the refs but Boone Co's guards reach in a whole lot and it's not called very often...

Boone County 72 Holmes 60
Which could have killed any rhythm that Gray could have gotten into...I'm sorry but only one player is laying on the ground on a blocking call and in this instance it was Englemon, How do you not know which guy got ran over? Also a terrible non call on a back court violation on Boone, 2 out of the 3 officials were solid, the other one not so much...

It should have been a chest pass instead of a bounce pass...The bounce pass is hard to handle in that situation...

Holmes 62 Covington Catholic 51
Gray is a jet and nobody can guard him one on one and stay in front of him, that's what I took from this game...If Gray stays aggressive Holmes will be tough to beat...It's also nice to see Coston and Palmer coming around...

Newport Central Catholic 60 Holmes 53
Dontel Rice needs to step up and play like older cousin Greg if this Holmes team is going to make any type of run...Gray has really stepped up his game lately he is a jet that no one in this region can stay in front of, he gets from one end to the other faster than any player I've seen in a long time and when aggressive with his floater he is pretty automatic...Going into the season we heard about Hayes and Rice and that's about it, but now you throw Gray into the mix and I just don't see how Holmes keeps getting beat...Hayes needs to quit jacking up treys and be aggressive driving to the basket where he can finish or dump it off to Rice...When I watch Holmes I see a team with Three Star players in Rice, Hayes and Gray who could be unstoppable if they had any aggressiveness and I also see depth on the bench...Holmes is such a mystery to me if they would stop passing the ball around the perimeter until the other team steals the ball and actual take the ball to the basket and try to score, they could dominate either finishing at the rim or getting offensive boards and picking up fouls on the opposition...You can't use your athletic advantage that they have over everyone that they play if your just going to pass the ball around the entire possession...

Awesome way to go dogs...Looking forward to hearing about this one...

N. Ky. D1 Players?
If you go to UK as an O-Lineman you will either get replaced by a TE who has moved to the O-Line or you will get moved to DT or something or another, they do nothing but mess with players natural positions...And Vandy would struggle to win in the MAC...
-
N. Ky. D1 Players?
Why is that, has UK or Vandy produced a lot of NFL O-Lineman?
-
Holmes 64 Covington Catholic 60
I was very impressed tonight by the ease in which Gray got to the basket and the clutch timely 3's by Palmer, he can stroke it...Holmes is more potent on offense when Palmer is in vs Mayfield...I was at the game and I notice the little pg for CC never shot the ball, it just stuck out to me but I guess his job isn't to be a scorer...

Any bandbox gyms left?
Heritage Academy I believe has a gym with the balcony...

Miles Simpson vs Shaun Alexander
With Simpson's career average per carry at Alexander's 1003 career attempts Miles Simpson would have 8445 yards career rushing that would be 1st in the state all time, Shaun Alexander finished with 6662...Even scarier is Miles was averaging 9.5 yards per attempt his senior year but he only had 234 attempts, but if he would have had 456 attempts his senior like Shaun Alexander did than Miles would have finished his senior year with 4332 yards rushing:eek: shattering that state record by over 1,000 yards...Miles Simpson was just as talented as SA in High School, Miles Simpson is a beast that played on a team that actually had a decent QB :thumb:

Miles Simpson vs Shaun Alexander
Points Scored in Career 662 Shaun 568 Miles Points Scored Season 326(Senior)252(Junior) Shaun 264(Junior)250(Senior) Miles Total TD's Career 110 Shaun 91 Miles Total TD's Season 54(Senior)42(Junior) Shaun 41(Senior)41(Junior) Miles Rushing TD's Career 104 Shaun 83 Miles Rushing TD's Season 50 Shaun 38(Senior)37(Junior) Miles All of these stats come from the state record books, it's safe to say Miles Simpson is the closest thing since Shaun Alexander in NKY and probably will be for a very long time...No other NKY Running backs even hold any state records at all I don't believe...Another interest record is Shaun Alexander has the 3rd most Rushing Attempts all time at 1,003, while Miles Simpson didn't even make that record and the last place guy had 712 Carries so Miles didn't even have that many attempts...With 1,003 attempts I thinks it's safe to say Miles would have been neck and neck with Shaun and maybe even broke some of his records...Another thing to note is look at Simpson's Junior numbers compared to Alexander's Junior numbers they are very comparable, Miles Simpson played his Senior Season with one healthy leg...

10th Region top players thus far
- Miles Simpson vs Shaun Alexander
He will be a very nice safety and still is just a freshman next year...Miles will be on the eyes of many NFL scouts in 4 years imo...He was recruited knowing that he might be moved to safety and since UK only likes track star runningbacks Miles wasn't in their plans at the RB position...- Miles Simpson vs Shaun Alexander
Miles is pretty much included in every record for a RB in the state of KY...Shaun is at the top of every category while Miles is a little further down he is still the closest to Shaun NKY has seen as far as records and I believe as far as with the naked eye as well...- Miles Simpson vs Shaun Alexander
Just so you know Simpson didn't play all that many complete games either I do not believe...Its Shaun 1 Miles 2 and whoever else you want to throw out there...- Simon Kenton 66 Grant County 48
How many points did Chambers have?- Holmes 88 St Henry 44
I dont question Holmes and you would be hard presses to find a bigger supporter of the Holmes program than me...I predicted Holmes by 15 which would have been a solid win imo, I am a bit surprised to see such a big spread as I believe most would be...All I simply stated was NKY games are usually pretty competitive, I never said I doubted Holmes, get your facts straight...I'll be one to not pick against the Dogs all year, I never have and never will pick against Holmes they are always capable of knocking off anyone...I would say I've probably been to more Holmes games the past 6 or so years than anyone on here not named Walter:thumb:- The Best NKY Rusher of the Last Five Years
Elliot will be Elliot he will not replace Miles or be like Miles...Miles had a shiftyness and wiggle to his game along with excellent vision that backs his size rarely possess...Elliot will run you over...- Holmes @ St. Henry Predictions (12/9)
Gray has a sweet stroke and Lewis has a nice looking shot also...Mayfield will knock them down pretty regularly also if you leave him open... - Miles Simpson vs Shaun Alexander
