This rivalry is so cyclical. I think CCH won 7 or 8 in a row and now Holmes has won the last 8 or 9.

If the 'Dawgs play with this type of intensity, they will be hard to beat. Cov Cath played man to man most of the game and Holmes just penetrated and made shots. CCH went to the 1-3-1 midway through the 2nd quarter but Holmes handled it pretty well. Holmes lead by 8 at the half. CCH came out strong the 2nd half and either tied it or cut it to 2, went back to man to man. Holmes then caused a few turnovers and kept the lead about 8 points. CCH did cut it to 4 at the beginning of the 4th, but that was it. Turnovers played a big part in the game, CCH continues to turn the ball over in critical moments. Thelen and Connelly played well for CCH. Gray, Hayes and Rice also played well for Holmes. Coston hit key buckets early to get Holmes the lead. The 'Dawgs look primed for the regional tourney.

Cov Cath seemed to have a tough time handling pressure this year. Not surprised that Holmes forced them into turnovers.

Gray is a jet and nobody can guard him one on one and stay in front of him, that's what I took from this game...If Gray stays aggressive Holmes will be tough to beat...It's also nice to see Coston and Palmer coming around...

Congrats to Holmes and Covington Catholic, Covington Catholic will be a hard first round game for someone. BJ Coston may be the key for Holmes in the regional, he may be the best outside shooter Holmes has had in a long time and he is only a Sophmore, both teams played hard is this great rival, good luck to both teams, i also thought Gray was a great choice for tournement MVP.

I listened to the broadcast. They said CCH played man the entire game. Was this only for a couple of plays?

I would be curious to know Holmes shooting % on their first shot of the possession vs their % on their 2nd shot.

If you listened online as I did it sounded like this "Holmes drives - layup - Holmes with the offensive rebound - 2 points."

Come on, can anyone really jump this high?

Listerman called a time out with about 3 minutes left in the 2nd and they went to the 1-3-1 then. They came back out in the 2nd half back to man to man. Holmes drove the ball to the basket against the 1-3-1 also.

The outcome of this game didn't surprise me but CCH playing man defense for most of the game certainly did. In the 2 meetings this year Holmes proved that CCH was unable to guard them man-to-man and Holmes exploted it. Holmes won't be so lucky as to face man-to-man defenses in the regional. They will have to make some shots in order to win it. On a side note none of the other 3 district winners will want to draw CCH in the first round.

I would be curious to know Holmes shooting % on their first shot of the possession vs their % on their 2nd shot.

Don't know the % but it was 80-90% clear out and work one-on-one and crash the boards. CCH actually had several long pass fast breaks due to Holmes crashing the glass. "dawgs way too quick for the Blue Colonels
