Holmes comes in 1-0 after beating Brossart in the season opener, 65-56..

 

St. Hank will limp in to this one 0-1 after losing to the same Brossart team by 10, 59-49, in the season opener.

Bulldogs should win this one by 10plus, I'll say Holmes by 15...

I think this could have been a decent game since St. Henry teams are so well coached by Faust, but without Barnett I think this one could get ugly.

 

It will be extremely tough for the Cru to handle Holmes' athleticism and pressure the entire game. I also think Holmes might have a little more quality depth than St. Henry with Lewis, Palmer, and Peterson off the bench.

 

I don't see anyone being able to match up with Hayes. I say he is in the high teens, low 20's at the end of the night.

I think both Walter and Qryche are being very kind. Holmes should be able to run away with this game. Just quicker and more athletic than the Cru. Both feature great coaches but the injured Burnett will be missed. Both teams will use a lot of players so the score could get fairly high.

Holmes will be quicker and more athletic than almost every team on their schedule but they won't run away with too many games...Holmes is very young and under a new coach, but even if they were a veteran team such as last year they still wouldn't run away with too many games, not too many teams run away with games in NKY...Holmes was much quicker and more athletic than BB as well but that was less than a 10pt game at the buzzer, that's just how games in NKY typically are even though Holmes dominated BB they still won by less than 10:thumb:

Their starting lineup features 3 seniors and 2 juniors. Their bench, however is young. Their first two guys off the bench are sophomores, Peterson and Palmer. After that Trey Lewis, who is a junior.

 

I think the difference in the game will be Chris Hayes. St. Henry will have nobody that can defend him one on one. I'd look for Dontel Rice to also get back on track in this one and have a good game.

I agree on Mayfield. He makes me nervous at times because he tries to play too fast. I also think he dribbles a little too much when he should get rid of the ball. He is a great leader though and that's what you want in your senior point guard.

 

Palmer is very smooth but I think he needs to gain some experience first before he takes over a team that is already inexperienced.

Gray has a sweet stroke and Lewis has a nice looking shot also...Mayfield will knock them down pretty regularly also if you leave him open...

Holmes has several different guys that can knock down the trey.

 

Against Brossart, Mayfield, Hayes, Palmer, and Lewis all knocked down a three pointer.

 

While Rice doesn't take many three's, he has a pretty nice jumper as well and is a threat if left open outside.

 

Gray is more of a slasher that likes to stay within 15 feet of the rim. Very smart player that does a great job attacking. I don't think you'll see him or Rice shoot too many three's this year.

 

Peterson is in the same boat as Rice and Gray. He'll do the majority of his work around the rim.
