I don't think schedule had a thing to do with it. It's an excues IMO. Sheldon Clark just beat Belfry and it's the same schedule LC had last year when they shut Knox out and lost in the Regional finals to Bell. Congrats to Rowan Co it's a big win for that program. They've waited all year on this game and it showed. We got outplayed, outcoached, turned the ball over and weren't disciplined no excuses. Rowan is a very talented team that nobody here was overlooking. Cross is great but Wing is a big time QB and who killed us. With compliment players like Williamson and Hodge they are skilled. Rowan/Knox should be a nice matchup. As for LC it's been an amazing 4 year swing for 1-21 to 17-3 thus far. We blew a great opportunity but what's done is done. We'll break down our holes, go to work and get better. To me you find out more who you are after tough games like this than when things are going great. Character check time. Good luck to Rowan the rest of the year.

I just think the whole thing is opening a can of worms. Where does it end? I know when I played at Lawrence Co we played the final 4 game at Mayfield. There will never be a longer post season game drive than that one. Look it up on the map. It's about as far East you can be to about as far West. Pretty sure we could have been at the ocean faster. It was also one heck of a memory even though we lost by 3. Our new alingment puts us in the toughest District in 3A IMO. Most of the drives other than Sheldon Clark are 1-2 hours. It would be a lot easier to drive 30-1:30 to Magoffin, Morgan, East Carter, West Carter, Lewis, Bath. That would take us out of a District with Belfry, Pike Central, Sheldon Clark and East Ridge. A lot less travel time and it would take us away from traditional powers. We're just going to line up and play as far as I know. Teams are unhappy now. If a few teams move then new teams will now be unhappy. Where does it ever end?

LC had multiple chances to beat Sheldon Clark but didn't finish and made mistakes. I tip my hat to Sheldon Clark. For the 2nd year in a row it was one of the most physical high school games I've seen. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Sheldon Clark is a team that can win it all in 3A IMO. Reminds me of my Jr year we had a bad record but were 3pts from playing on the carpet. SC beat Johsnon Central around like we beat SC around but just like us they lost that game in a heartbreaker. They've played an outstanding schedule. I'm really interested to see what happens with the Belfry game this Fri. As for the LC/Rowan game it should be a dandy. Both teams have waited a year for this. Rowan is VERY skilled across the board on offense and well coached. Both teams are playing with confidence. Should be a lot of fun!

Both teams have waited all off season for this game. Rowan is playing for their 1st ever District Championship and Lawrence is playing for back to back District Championships. Should be a heck of a matchup. I expect both teams to be bringing Fri night! Rowan is very talented across the board on offense!

We lost 19 Sr's last year and lose 19 this year which is a lot for LC. Only 2 starters were back on this defense from last year though. Last I heard I think we are playing Raceland which is great. It was one of the best most respectful on both side rivalries we had when I was in school. Both teams were always good, physical and well coached. Got to see Coach Ross several months ago. I always had a lot of respect for him as an opponent.

I thought this was the most talented and best coached Greenup team we've seen in 4 years. I really hope they all stick together inside their circle becasue with Lyle and Marsh they are good enough to give Knox a tough game if healthy I think.

Lawrence played a well rounded game. Ran the ball well and threw the ball well. Oline did a nice job.Defense held Greenup to around 170yds on the ground holding Lyle and Marsh under 100 yds which is saying a lot because those 2 kids can play! LC scored it's 4th defensive TD on the year and had the 5th but the official apologized for blowing the whistle on the TD return on the picked off shovel pass. Both teams played physical. Proud of the LC kids for playing the way they had to. I was also proud of Greenup for playing hard through the 2nd half. I think the GC/Knox matchup if it happens will be a good physical ballgame. Next week is what it's all about for LC. I expect both teams to bring their A game!

This is a great matchup! Both teams are very physical. Greenups offense just rushed for 500+yds last week. Lawrence Co's defense has been playing as good as any D they've had since 92-93 team. That matchup will determine the game I think. Can't wait! Should be a great atmosphere with two blue collar teams!

It's a great matchup. Two very contrasting styles of play. Both teams very well coached. That was the 1st thing I saw when I saw 2A released is that this is a great matchup.

That draft would cut our travel time in 1/2 Doyle. Instead of driving an ave of 1:45 it would be more along the lines of 30-45.

Bell's the number 1 team in the state and it's good to see Knox get some credit because they are not only legit this year they were last year too. They have a nice team and are well coached. Congrats to the Bobcats it sounds like it was a great Fri night atmosphere.

Kyle Crum Lawrence Co and Mikie Moore Sheldon Clark are the best two I've seen so far this year. Canady is probably the best it sounds like and Davenport was good last year. I really liked Raines but I think he's at GTown now. Hodge from Rowan is good too.

I don't live there so I don't know where the money comes from but the facilities are top notch. Beautiful turf field. New lockerrooms. Pretty sure they got a top of the line newer weight room. Fireworks after scores etc. I tip my hat they have taken that program from average about 10 years ago to a great atmosphere on Fri nights.

I said I think I could be wrong. It seems like they ran all over Highlands the past year or two. I might be wrong but I thought they did. I do know they have a legit thing going right now. It really should have been one of the best programs in Eastern KY for a long time. They have everything a school needs. Athletes, money, facilities, more kids than most schools in this area, great 8th grade coach etc. Highlands has been an out for many many programs. That doesn't mean they are more bark than bite though. I don't think JC will beat Highlands anytime soon but I do think they have a great thing going.

I wouldn't call Johnson Central more bark than bite. They have been legit the last couple of years. They took Highlands to the wire I think which only a handful of teams in KY could do. They might not be state champs but they have a good thing going on there.

The played LC close the first half last year. I consider Coach Baldwin a friend and they look much more organized this year IMO. When you are dealing with teenagers on a Fri night you never know!

I've been around Luke a long time and I've never heard anything like this come out of his mouth. I've coached with Luke and Chuke. Big difference. Chuke wanted to drill you into the ground. Luke much like Coach Sphire when I was with him tries to work on things to get prepared for the playoffs. We've only got 1 kid starting both ways so we already play a lot of kids. On top of that 3 of our 4 younger running backs are in casts. 1 starting back is a Soph and another a JR. There are only so many guys that can run the ball. It's not like he's sitting with the starters throwing the ball late in the 4th quarter. On top of that the defense has a couple of TD's this year and multiple turnovers inside opponents red zone. There's a lot of things that factor in that somebody who has never seen LC play wouldn't know. You try to paint a picture that he's some disrespectful punk. Nothing could be further from the truth. Honestly I don't think I've ever been around a coach that does more for kids off the field than Coach Salmons. It's a FULL TIME job around here. State is in on the Administration. Zero money support from the school. Last Super is suing the school. Lots of kids with no dad's etc. He's got a lot of the communitty riding on his back becuase it's one of the few great things around here.

This is the second straight year this game has been what high school football was all about. Absolutly as physical as you could ask for by both teams. Both left it all on the field tonight. I tip my hat to SC on a great win and am proud of the effort LC gave. We have to execute better when we get our chances but will grow from it. Really proud of both teams tonight how hard they played and the sportsmanship.

How's the Bowling Green area? I know BGHS always has some amazing athletes.

Shelby West always had a great one in the Mid Bluegrass Confrence. It feeds into MLC now. I've heard great things about NKY youth ball. Johnson Central, Belfry, Lawrence Co and Ashland all have nice middle school programs. The youth here at LC is struggling right now. That's the next step in our growth IMO.

Thoughts on this game? Sheldon Clark dominated Johnson Central last week having something like 20+ first downs to JC's 5. They held Jude to 37 yards. Didn't score twice inside the 5 and had a player fall down after catching a ball behind the defense however JC made the plays when they had too. Lawrence County has played a subpar schedule thus far but taken care of business. Offense hasn't played 4 quarters yet and defense hasn't given up a TD. LC has more depth. Both teams are mirror images when it comes to playing physical. Last years game was a knock down drag out 4 quarter game that LC won in Louisa. I think both programs have a mutal respect and good physical rivalry. It should be good ball game.

Coach Combs is a great guy. It's great to see Ft Knox on the rise!

I feel like Lawrence Co is good enough to do it again. 3 toss up games the rest they should be favored.

If I was 4A I'd be trying to get into 5A!
