Trinity 27 Cincy St. X 6 (JV)
Not sure, as I'm only guessing as to the meaning behind his redshirt comment, but it's certainly not something exclusive to any one or two schools. As w/ any school, depending on when the individual students started school you can have a senior age range anywhere from 17-19 yrs old.

Courier Journal
So was mine. I think they mistakenly sent out the Indiana edition to parts of the east end...

Trinity 27 Cincy St. X 6 (JV)
I'm assuming he's referring to the practice some parents ascribe to of not entering boys into kindergarten until they are 6 instead of 5. I coached for a few years back in the mid-80's at the 7th & 8th level &, as a general rule, the boys that had started school a year later than their counterparts were at a distinct advantage physically.

State Chamionships won by teams that totally rely on passing game?
I would actually be surprised if the Rocks were more than 60/40 pass/run & maybe not even that high. no stats to back that up, just a gut feeling...

Saint X/Fern Creek Scrimmage
Mid '80's, either right before or right after Jeff Houk...

Trinity/Lexington Catholic Scrimmage
It's a scrimmage, not a game, & the outcome (on the scoreboard) is irrelevant.

Trinity's Tim Phillips receives offer.....
Absolutely! he benches in the 365lb neighborhood & came in either second or third in the 100m dash at the state track meet. he should be something special to watch this year...

Shamrocks/Bluebirds 7 on 7
I do have to a admit I got a chuckle when a Trinity fan sitting at the top of the bleachers started the "Bluebirds don't want any part of playing Trinity during the regular season and won't schedule us" stuff. I've asked Dale directly if Beatty has called him and tried to schedule a game and Dale told me he has not. Then again, I don't know if Dale has ever picked up the phone and called Beatty. Not sure why they don't but the 'Rocks & the 'Birds should get it on every year...

Butler 4 Trinity 1
JR, as you've previously stated, Inch is a class guy & a credit to the game as well as Trinity High School. I've known him since my days at Trinity &, as far as I'm concerned, the program could not be in better hands! :thumb:

Trinity 5 St. X 2
That was my senior year & although I wasn't at the game that's pretty much how I heard it went down as well. I actually heard that he hot dogged it & that's why he dropped it. Oh, so close...

Trinity 5 St. X 2
The Rocks have never won it all but have come close, losing in the finals in '83 & once earlier this decade. X last won it in '81, I believe.

why would lacrosse, tennis, or track be mentioned in the baseball forum??

Which part of the state has the best football?

Louisville area D1 prospects 2008
Steve Raible played in the early '70's (72-73?). The Gardners played in the early-mid 80's on teams w/ Andy Murray & Mike Pfeifer & won titles in '83 & '85.:thumb:

Mr. Football 2008
While I would agree that Deuce will be more highly recruited due mainly to their size differential I certainly don't believe that he is any better of a high school running back than Tim. Both are fantastic athletes and a credit to their respective schools. I only hope that they both have injury free senior campaigns & the rest will sort itself out. :thumb:

Your team's biggest win EVER!
While the state final wins v. Pad. Tighlman in '80 & Boone in '94 were huge because we were the underdogs I have never personally witnessed a bigger Rock victory than the 2005 final, for the very reasons rocktopper mentioned above. :thumb:

Best RB at your school ever.
You are correct, I was 4 when he graduated but I have seen some grainy black & white game film (from St. Pius as well as Trinity) years ago & I agree he was certainly something special. I didn't attend my first Rock football game until 1974 so to be fair perhaps I should ammend my statement: Tim Phillips is the best back I've ever seen wear the green & white...AND we get to watch him for another year!!! Hey 19!!!

Best RB at your school ever.
As an alum & avid Rock supporter, w/ all due respect to the great Mr. Hennessy, IMVHO he has already been supplanted as the best in school history by Tim Phillips, & he still has a year left...:thumb:

Who was the best high school football team you've seen this year?
Cincy St. X gets my vote as well. I saw them play Trinity w/o Ashley. I then saw them on STO v. Mentor w/ Ashley but w/o their senior QB. Even though I never saw them w/ their full complement of weapons I was very impressed. I'm certainly looking forward to seeing Ashley suit up for the Cards next year as well as a trip by the Bombers down to the 'ville! As for second best I think if you put T, X, & HHS in a tourney where they played each other an equal amount of times they'd all be very near .500 - in other words, too close to call...:thumb: Merry Christmas all!!!
