Trinity/Lexington Catholic Scrimmage

Should be a nice test for the ROCKS. Lex Catholic fields a very competitive team every year. It should be fun to watch.

I appreciate the game-like format, playing 3 timed quarters under normal game rules with officials. The JV quarter with 10 play series is adequate.

This is what makes good football teams great! Both of these programs will schedule and compete against the best competition they can in order to get to where they want to be at the end of the year. My hat is off to both teams, their coaches, and the players! They earn everything they get at the end of the year now.

I totally agree with this post. Well stated.

Doesn't Lex Cath have a former Trinity coach on their staff?

Mike announced somewhere between 7:00 and 7:30.

Sure, he's William Leach, Sr. He and his frosh son have joined the Knights. His senior son will graduate from Trinity this spring. Should add some spice to scrimmage as Mr. Leach takes over the running backs at LexCath. The family resides in Frankfort area.

Why would Coach Leach ever leave Trinity with his kid being a senior? I thought the players loved him as a coach. Hopefully Coach Leach doesn't give Lex Cath all of T's secrets, so this game could be a close one.

It's a scrimmage, not a game, & the outcome (on the scoreboard) is irrelevant.

Should be a great one.

Maybe a teaching position opened up at LexCath that may not have been there next year. I would imagine LexCath is closer to his home. Could be the younger son wanted the opportunity to play some varsity football as a freshmen? This may happen. He is very talented. Lots of possible explanations. It will add to the spice of the scrimmage a little bit.:thumb:
