Yowza. It looks like they certainly worked on some of that offense they were apparently lacking against Henry Clay. I'd like to hear details as well.

Manual WAS the best team in the nation... in 1959 and several years before that. And since the oldest rivalry is the Male/Manual rivalry, you could say that Male falls into the category as having played the number 1 team in the nation. :lol:

Fair enough, as none of those teams are typically real pushovers and I know nothing of the Indiana team (I'll assume they're beastly). That's my preseason prediction for PRP.

I don't know if I'd call it a monster schedule, but it's certainly going to be an interesting one for them. Seems to only get tougher each week (not to start a T vs X thing, I'm just saying in general). My feelings towards PRP are mixed. I have sympathy of them being part of the meatgrinder, but I also think they haven't made things as interesting as hoped for the past couple of years.

And even Ballards chances are slim, looking at past seasons. I'm curious, what's the closest score between Ballard and T been this decade?

If PRP beats Manual I'll buy you a house. Okay, not really, but I don't see Manual losing to PRP this year.

Pretty much exactly what I was going to put. Brohm WAS a bit better of a high school QB, but considering he was an amazing high school QB, and Bush was an amazing ANYTHING, I give him the edge there.

I hope they're more like the 98-02 uniforms (I probably have the years off, but I know they were there in those seasons). Those were the best ever IMO.

Wow, this is such a shock... I don't know what to say. He was one of the few Trinity members that I never got to meet. He was always right there to support his team or cause... definitely a guy you'd want on your side. BGP won't be the same without him. My thoughts and prayers for him, his family and the Trinity community.

I think that the Manual fans on this site would be the first to say that we're not up there with the Big III. That's certainly where we'd like to be, and strides have been made in the 00's that are MUCH improved from the Manual of the 90's. And I know it may seem like we're complaining when we say we've got one of the toughest roads, but is it not true? To play St X, Male, and PRP to get to the playoffs, then to play them again (minus PRP, usually), plus Trinity, well, that's one tough road for ANY team. But to be honest, I'm not even one to complain about it, because how can you claim to be the best if you don't BEAT the best? As far as football goes, nothing would be more satisfying for me than for a Manual team to beat Male, then knock out St. X, beat Male again, then beat Trinity (and another team) and win the title (or whatever order it takes place). Seriously, what else could a 6A team accomplish to prove that they're the best? My Trinity friends can agree with me on this... they know how it is. And you're absolutely right that Trinity come playoff time is a bigger badder monster that that of the regular season, but they're still going to be Trinity, and Trinity doesn't like to lose in ANY game, scrimmages included. Plus, if the Lexington schools also make it that far in the playoffs, then shouldn't they have that much more determination and experience as well? With the exception of injuries, how often is a team worse come playoff time than better? I for one am in agreement with 02ram, that if Manual and PRP were in Lexington, they'd definitely be bigger names. As far as Lexington schools competing against the Big 3, I believe it will happen, but it's going to take time, talent, and one heck of a driven team, and the school with said team will probably Dunbar.

That's a little harsh, but I could see why others would say it after T and X. After Manual overachieved last year, and lost quite a little, then I'd say they may very well earn a spot in the top 10 in more expert polls. I don't know enough about 6A outside of Louisville to make a judgement call for an entire top 10.

Too easy for me, and I can tell you it'll probably be all of the other Crimson's responses. The Old Rivalry in 2001. Male vs. Manual The last Manual victory occurred in 1989, giving Male the largest streak of victories in the rivalry's history. The barrel, as usual, was at stake. Along with the pride of myself being the last of my brothers to have the opportunity to be on a Manual team that beat Male. Male had the likes of Bush, Spencer, Blackerby, and some other people who I can not even think of at the moment. Manual had Keenan Burton, as our QB, and myself and 02ram. No other names would ring any bells. The crowd was huge... I don't know how huge, but it was one loud stadium. The last few minutes were gut-wrenching, as only a few weeks before we had experienced the bitter stunning loss to St. X in the last 7 minutes of the game. So we were all pretty on edge. But it came down to the last minute. 3 and out, Manual's ball. No more big plays occurred. The time on the clock hadn't even reached the 10s when fans were jumping the fence onto the field. Game over. Manual victory. Final score, 20-13. The field quickly became something I will never likely experience again in my life. People were hugging me that I didn't know. Friennds and family SOMEHOW got to me. Within seconds I had lost sight of the line to shake hands with Male... I'm pretty sure it dissolved quickly anyway. It took quite sometime to work my way through the crowd up on The Hill where the team was gathering for pictures and the most glorious rendition of the fight song ever sang.

The little-thought-of Trinity vs. Manual "rivalry" (I use that word to the same extent that others claim a St. X/Male, Trinity/Male 'rivalries', though those are more prestigious obviously) has held some definite classics.

Bravo, someone on BGP can admit when they're wrong! It's a quality not shared with all, so I've noticed.

I'm pretty sure that Manual will be up there again, as being in the usual meat grinder with X and Male, and though Trinity isn't on the schedule, I've heard they will be playing Louisville Central and a couple of other decent opponents though I can't remember whom at the moment.

I was thinking I was going to have to type "there's no such thing as a bold prediction for Trinity", but I stand corrected. Not even against 4th and 5th strings?
