If the game was going to be played at the Pizza Box, I'd try to go. No way I'd dare to attempt to maneuver at Maxwell Stadium.

Honestly, I'll have to go with Male, if only for the fact that they've been playing those tough games lately, where Trinity had it's toughest games at the begining of the season. But either way wouldn't surprise me, so I'm not going to bother with a prediction.

Indeed. On second thought I'd also personally switch Dewalt with Keenan Burton. While there is some bias there, and I'm aware of how tall and atheletic DeWalt is, I really think Keenan is just better. Burton and Urrutia would make any defense feel useless.

That would look REALLY scary to an opposing team. Though I might throw the '88 Trinity D up there instead, but I dunno, you're definitely more knowledgable than myself in this area.

I mentioned in my first post that I've seen Manual players do the same... being at the time that I played for Manual my jersey was a bit too small to stay tucked in, I couldn't really complain then, but I do wish they all had a uniform look. I don't know if the tape looked good or not, but it doesn't matter... either the whole team should do it, or maybe all players at that position. I just don't care for the vanity of it. Especially if the player is as good as Vic... he doesn't need to show he's special in any way other than running all over people, which he does well enough.

Why are so many of you ragging on his post? Is it of extreme importance- not really, but it's kind of interesting. Why do players feel the need to "express" themselves in any way other than what they can do on the field? Are those highlight cleats going to make Vic run faster? Are colleges going to be more inclined to pursue a young man with "style"? I'm usually the kind to ask "why not?" but in this case, I find it annoying enough to ask "why?"

I admit, I was laughing when I saw it. But then, I saw it a lot when playing at Manual, too... except for my Junior year ('01)... when we had our best season for a long time. I think there's something to it!

Sorry for the belatedness... not trying to shy away or anything. Manual looked okay in the first half, got a fairly fortunate touchdown (well done, but still, it could've easily NOT happened, had St. X not called 2 TOs), then came the second half plunge into very, very poor playing on Manual's part. The defense just couldn't seem to grasp the whole tackling concept, and let some BIG plays happen for St. X. Manual's O-line was dominated by X. The QBs threw a bunch of high ones. A good combination of pressure of the big game and location rattled the nerves of a few players it seemed. I bet the coaches can't WAIT to get the guys back onto the practice feild, though. Manual should have one HECK of a team next year. After all, athletes don't go to Manual... they're MADE at Manual. A lot of these guys have just finished getting thier feet wet into this game. Good luck to St. X... now I have to decide who I'm going to root against more next Friday.

I have heard this as well, but I've yet to see anyone say it's official.

If that's not bulletin board material, I don't know what is. I disagree that they don't perform well in playoffs or under pressure. They typically lose to St. X and Male in the playoffs, and those two teams either lose to each other, or Trinity, or nobody. Manual plays the Big 3 closer than anyone.

I know. I would've LOVED the opportunity to play at the Oven... I'm glad these guys get the chance. It may give them a taste of something bigger...

I know I could get some flack for this, but Joe Nichols of Manual took a program that Jerry Mayes had pulled out of the gutter, and in his first year was able to take the team that nobody wanted (joke, joke) and was able to beat Male for the first time in 13 years. This year he's taken a team that few even suspected would make the playoffs and has surprised some folk. He had one losing season, going 4-6 in '03... yet one of those 4 wins was to the eventual state champion, Trinity. You also have to consider the lack of athletes that Manual takes in... his program molds some real players. He's got my props.

I look at it this way- compared to last year (I know I shouldn't do that, but eh, it makes for an interesting argument in my opinion), this Manual team has a very different attitude. Last year, when Manual met up with X in the playoffs it was pretty much the way LSURock is predicting for this one. I would think if this Manual team is going out, they want it to be in style.

Let's say St. X comes in with the notion that they have done this before and they ought to do it again, with ease, making them play lax, and then Manual comes in with full burners and those special connections between the QB and recievers, then this may be... Manual- 36 St. X- 31 GO RAMS!!! One thing St. X has going for it (other than Vic) is that they've been at the Box before... this will be the first time ever for the Crimsons.

Male wins, but not as easily as they did in the first meeting... ...or EASIER, depending on PRP's attitude.

I heard this would've been closer had Manual's QB not seemed to have been feeling the pressure of the big game. Just what I heard, though. Obviously can't pin it on just one player.

Halftime, Male is up 21-7. It was 14 to 0, then Manual scored, then Male returned a kickoff. I doubt I'll be updating much more, I'm pretty busy tonight.

That could have hapened to a guy, too. Was the statement by your linebacker to take a cheap shot to a kicker? Can't find a better man.

There have been girls at kicker, reciever, QB, even line(wo)man. If they can compete, I say they should go for it. Football's fun, why try and hold a girl back if she can play?
