Jeez, I bet the basketball game between these two teams won't have so many points.

Honestly, at the begining of the season, who would have seen this result? (other than myself, of course)

St. X is still St. X. But Male is still going to win, IMO. I'll say Male- 35 St. X- 28

This was the 5 point super game for a reason. This game literally went down to the last second. PRP's QB was flinging that ball a LOT in that last minute, and catches were being made, but they were all just short passes, and some of them didn't go out of bounds so precious seconds were ate up. The last second play got nowhere. PRP proved they could still play some ball after the beatings they got the past two games. And Manual did what they needed to do and won. I understand that Manual doesn't have the weapons that Male and St. X do, but I still hoped they could've scored a couple of more. It'd make me feel better going into the Male game. But then, PRP had to have been REALLY wanting this win. GO RAMS!!!

I'd have to say I'd expect Highlands to get it first, simply because the other two members of the Big 3 will make things difficult for Trinity. Not to say it would surprise me to see Trinity get it.

Sam Erny was awesome. I believe he had set some record, but I forget what it was. The kicker we got after Sam graduated was a senior soccer player who was amazing as well. He ended up dating a girl who I have worked with for years and lived with for a little while.

There are too many "IT's" in this thread. I refuse to say "IT". Oh no, I just said "IT"! There, I said "IT" again!!! Gotta show props to Monty Python. On the subject of this thread however, chemistry is probably the most powerful element for a team to have.

It's kind of funny, as last week Manual wasn't ranked, and this week they are but PRP's not.

Nobody else has any thoughts? At this point it should be quite a big game. Very important for both teams, and a real teller.

I believed last year was going to be THE year. This year I felt would be a rebuilding year, but I'm very happy to see they haven't fel as far as many predicted. I'd love nothing more for Manual to go in the playoffs and make the run of the century. And of all the teams in 4A, I definitely think Manual has one of the better chances. I'm not going so far to say I think they WILL do it, but I totally stand by the "CAN" aspect for Manual. That's when the players come in and believe in themselves. They've got to prove it. In regards to Brentwood taking out MBA, I'm a little surprised at the difference, but not surprised they won. Trinity should've beaten MBA.

PRP has had lots of weaknesses exploited the past two weeks, and I doubt they're very happy about it, and they'll be looking to take it out on Manual. Manual on the other hand, still hasn't earned much respect. There's a lot to say about this game, but for now, I'll just make my current at-the-top-of-my-head prediction. Manual- 35 PRP- 21 Manual's defense isn't as good as Male or X, but it's not bad. And the offense doesn't have the weapons of Male or X, but it's not too bad either. This is going to be interesting.

I think it's safe to say this will be an expected win on Manual's part. Butler has the potential to make a decent game with it, though. I think this is less likely to go the route of the Meade and Warren Central games where Manual punches it in mostly in the second half. I say Manual will score early and gain a fairly comfy lead in the first half, but I doubt we'll see second stringers get too much action. I'll say- Manual 35 Butler 14

A lot of those championship games were against Male. Trinity and X may get that extra umph in that final game to win, but I disagree that they're on a different level. Same level, better luck, and slightly better coaching... Redman can get cocky and unfocused for those games. But hey, that's just my opinion. The championships are indeed the biggest statements. I agree that T and X (and for my money, Male) would probably lose against Hoover, but it wouldn't surprise me to see them make a game of it.

He evidently didn't make too much noise against Manual. Manual's defense is pretty good, but still, Trinity's is a bit better. I am leaning more towards the shutout myself the more I think about it.

I disagree. I think you may be putting too much stock in the fact that they're private schools. Male consistantly competes with St. X and Trinity and is pretty much on the same level. I'd say Male's better this year, though I haven't actually seen them play.
