Trinity 48 Ballard 7

Featured Replies

No shocker here.

Trinity absolutely mauled Ballard, they got a junk touchdown late. Nick looked simply amazing going 19-28 - 369 yards - 5 td's......he was killing them where ever he wanted. This game makes me feel very good in that Ballard is very athletic and we finally passed very well, being that we have been running the ball effectively most of the season thus far.

Nick looked great. He had all day to stand back in the pocket and pick Ballard apart. Ballard scored with 44 seconds left in the game. The defense is really starting to get nasty. Ballard's QB took a couple of big shots and kept on going, hats off to the kid. Sir Weakly ran the ball well at times as well, but he was punished at the end of every run. Needless to say, Jody was a little off on this one.

This win came a little easier than I expected based on some of the noise coming out of BHS before the game. Based on Ballard's attendance at the game and the relative lifelessness of those fans who did attend, I don't think - deep down - Ballard thought they could win. Ballard competed fairly well for the whole game but was definitely out-talented and out-schemed. In my estimation Sir Weakley is a tough back but doens't quite possess a distinguishing characteristic - speed, quickness, size, etc. - to move him up to the premier level.

While certainly far from perfect,Trinity's defense continues to improve. The D seems a little vulnerable around the edges but I like the hitting and the toughness. The secondary could use some work, but then again it wouldn't be Trinity if the secondary was very good.

The passing game looked sharp and it all started with protection. It was good to have Kyle Flynn (WR) and Wes Weitlauf (ILB) back. T's receiving corps also seems to be improving. I think the coaching staff put more emphasis on this game than on the previous two, and it showed.

Well, I guess Ballard coach Catlett wasn't trying to deceive anyone when he said they would try to establish the run and stop the run. His Bruins did an admirable job of stopping the run, but they gave up passing plays all night long--to the tune of 451 yards passing and 6 TDs (5 from beyond 30 yards out). Another tough night for the Bruins.

Hope the Ballard player who broke his leg will be OK. Trinity D did a fine job of shutting down Sir W. He had most of his yards in 2nd half vs 2 & 3 string. A little Tom Foolery... Nick to Jamar to Nick to Will.... made for an entertaining TD. NIce to see some of the Rocks who were dinged up play really well! Good win men.

I see that Trinity started #51 on the offensive line for ther first time, does anyony know who he replaced.

I guess that the Trinity coaches must not be totally satisified or they would not be making O line changes this late in the year. I had heard he was working with the first team form the last two weeks, does anyone know anything about this situation??

I also head that a senior quit Friday before the Ballard game anybody know anything about that.

Did the J/V team play Saturday and if so did they win??

#51 is junior Kyle Griffin. He (along with several others) has been in the mix for the O-line. He got pressed into action when sophmore Brian Mattingly missed a number of days sick this week. I don't know anything about anyone quitting. JV team won 32 to 13.
