So based upon your comments..... Under what scenario if any could Bob Beatty be coach of the year?

He is a Conner supporter only to the extent he is/was involved. Praise for anyone else is a slight to his accomplishments.:banana:

Is Dixie the 3rd best public school job in nky? Behind Highlands, Ryle and Beechwood. Long term is Dixie better than Cooper, who will have similar demographics to Ryle? I would think Brossart would be the most likely candidate. I wouldn't think Borchers would be interested. Why would Dixie want to turn back the clock with Burnette? What about Lickert?

Might be a better idea than to keep listending to coaches who maybe more self motivated that what is the best interest of all.

I don't know who is on it either and I don't care who the KHSAA does or doesn't listen to, but if the individuals that make up the "coaches advisory committee" can't make an objective recommendation about what is and isn't best for high school sports, maybe the KHSAA would find more wisdom reading a message board. At least the pros and cons would be laid out and group think wouldn't be in play and there might be less "group think".

A "deserving" team not making the playoffs is an oxymoron.

I don't believe it does matter to the KHSAA. They only concern themselves with varsity sports. You can't be "inelegible" with the KHSAA at the JV or Frosh level.

kytrackxc.com list the 200 meter runners 1 through 6 and he is not on there, and like I said, he was second in NKY in the 100 meters.

Miles did not qualify for the state meet in track, and was number 2 100 meter runner in NKY that year.

Put me in the "shunning crowd". I think on the totem pool of academic pursuits, a “weight lifting class” would be near the bottom.

I heard their numbers are way down. Can anyone confirm? I believe this comes on the heels of last years class, which also had a numbers issue.

Agree with everyone else. This has gone from a great event to silly. I know that Taft has some big recruits that they are looking to showcase, but as a team are they good enough to feature on national TV? I like the NCC vs. McNick game.

QS: Are these silly infractions National Rules that the KHSAA can not revise/change as they wish or are there people involved in the sport and/or the KHSAA that actually think it is a good idea to DQ kids for the stitching in their compression shorts? If it is the latter, is there a reason behind the rules that isn't readily visible to the casual observer?

Obviously the football and baseball team benefit, but do the female student athletes at Beechwood benefit from this project?

James Quick, the standout from Trinity's season best is a sub 11 seconds. There are only five (5) boys who have posted sub 11 second time in the state this spring.

I can't even use the word "spin" to describe these statements, because it is so far beyond spin. Hope everyone put their boots on before reading that. The real truth is that because of the requirement that Cov. Cath. does not want a para professional and the fact that the pay at a private school is less than that at a public school, the pool of candidates willing to accept the job is very very limited. So limited that for many really good coaches those factors offset the many benefits such as: having the talent flow through the program to always be competitive, great feeder system, all male school that draws from all of Kenton and Boone Counties, high socioeconomic demographic of the students, community support, etc. Expectations and the unique challenges that may exist do little to nothing to scare away the best candidates from Cov. Cath. Low pay and having to teach at the school more likely have a greater impact. If I had to guess who the next Cov. Cath coach will be, I would think the next coach might be similar to both Eviston and Brannen at NCC. Young guys who are alums of the school and whose passion and loyalty might outweigh other factors. A guy like a Nestheide.

I believe the difference is females want to play with guys and if they do well they know they have done something. Males don't want to play against females because it does nothing to quench the competive thirst that is hard wired in males. If theysucceeed - well big deal. Right or wrong, I try to never agrue over something I wouldn't want and i don't want a few males competing with all females. I am not crazy about a few females competing with all males, but I can live with it. As far as the topic at hand, that is very impressive.
