After a great run at CCH Mike Listerman has decided it's time for someone else to steer the ship.

Never surprised when a coach decides it is time to move on in this day and time. The expectations of the parents and alumni of CovCath make it one of the toughest jobs in Northern Kentucky. The talent level that comes in also make it one of the better jobs in the area.

How coveted is this job? Will they get lots of interest in this job, or will the parental influence scare some candidates off? Just curious if they will get local interest or if they will bring someone in from outside of the area. I think it would be very difficult for someone close to CCH to take over this position.

With the younger classes be loaded with talent and size. I would say their will be a lot of interest.

There is solid talent in each grade. I'm not sure I'd say "loaded."

The challenge at CCH (or any Catholic school ) is always pay. If you're a teacher/coach at a public school you're making more money and your retirement plan is better. That right there will limit the pool of candidates IMO.

 

CCH is not for everyone. Parental/community involvement can be overwhelming to some.

Guessing most prominent coaching names in the area will be mentioned for this one, but as Clyde says the public school compensation structure can be tough to give up for many potential candidates. Wonder if they're looking for a in-house teacher, or is a para-professional possible?

Sorry to hear this. Coach L is a good guy and I wish him all the best for the future.

Coach L is a great family man and a great coach. I really hope this was his decision alone. Hat's off to him on all that he has accomplished. Best of luck for any future endeavors.

 

It will be interesting to see who applies for this job. IMO one of the top jobs in NKY. I would expect some serious interest.
