AP Poll Week September 21
If they played tomorrow I would pick Trinity over Highlands. I have seen Highlands. I have not seen Trinity.

Saint Xavier, OH/Highlands Predictions
I think there are several people on here who seem to believe that Highlands will certainly have difficulty stopping X when X has the ball. My question would be, when Highlands has the ball, is their offensive line good enough with enough size to open holes for Collinsworth and allow their QB time to throw the ball. I know they do have the one kid going to Miami; however, traditionally Highlands is very small on the offensive line, which serves them well against KY teams, but not so well against GCL teams.

Folks on radio said that X called off the dogs at halftime and played all underlassman and reserves 2nd half.

PRP Coach Jason Stinson found not guilty on all charges.
Football is a rough sport, every one knows that. Kids have to be in condition to play to the best of their abilities and to protect themselves against injury. Every one knows that too. But there is a smart and a dumb way to get kids into peak physical condition. It's not smart to rush conditioning, which is why coaches and kids should be spending more time during the winter and spring on conditioning and not just weight lifting. Waiting until the summer and then trying to cram conditioning in, isn't smart and is dangerous. Furthermore, bigger and heavier kids should be brought along more slowly than others in the conditioning drills. So should kids on medication. Coaches have to make a great effort to know what kids are on what medications and must know (by checking with the team physician or the kids' physicians) what the side effects of those medications are and adjust conditioning accordingly. Coaches should actually encourage kids to take breaks when needed and should not in their actions or words try to intimidate kids into doing more than they are capable of doing. Yes there will be some kids that loaf and come up with excuses why they need a break. If that happens, so be it. We are talking about high school sports, not preparing Marines to go to war. If teams lose games because some kids goofed off and made up excuses in conditioning, then that's just too bad. I like winning games and state championships with the best of them, but I'd rather have the losses than kids getting hurt because a coach felt he had to really push the kids to get in shape to win games. The coaches should develop an environment that kids are not afraid to tell their coaches that they aren't feeling well and need to miss practice or conditioning drills. Finally, I'm not in any way stating or implying that Coach Stinson did any of the above things that I don't think coaches should do or didn't do any of the above things that I think coaches should do. I am in no position to make those types of judgments. Well said. Football is like anything else, if it is taught by people who have a passion for both the game and players it is a beautiful thing. However, in the hands of the wrong individuals it becomes very ugly very quickly.

PRP Coach Jason Stinson found not guilty on all charges.
Although I agree with many of the comments posted on here that what happened here was probably more of a tragic accident rather than anything approaching criminal, the trial gave a snapshot into into the ugly side of a high school coach. Any coach that is stupid enough to utter the phrase, "we are going to run until someone quits", really has no business working with young people in any capacity.

Who are the most one dimensional coaches in the state?
I would say similar to the "run only" coaches, concentrated in Eastern KY, that Coach Edge has had a lot of wins, but not a lot of success in bringing home titles. Possibly a little more diversity with him would go along way?

What winless team breaks a long streak??
Then they celebrated by taking the team bus directly to church and getting baptized.

Who are the most one dimensional coaches in the state?
It really isn't all that hard to argue with the results, while many people mentioned on here have racked up a significant amount of wins and even had some limited success on the big stage, who is to say that that with a more balanced attack they might have had even more success when it counted.

Who are the most one dimensional coaches in the state?
The JC QB controversy thread got me thinking. Who are the most one dimensional coaches/teams in the state right now?

Who gets the NDA job?
Well said Clyde.

South Oldham 22 Waggener 16 OT
Why has South Oldham's program dipped so much? When they were in the district with the NKY teams they had some very nice teams.

Highlands 48 Beechwood 20
For sure the years that Jason suited up for the Tigers, but beyond that it would just be speculation.

Newport Catholic vs. Beechwood Frosh
Do both of these teams have freshman only? Do either have 8th or 10th graders filling out the rosters?
-
Now that all 3 levels of Highlands & Ryle have played...
Along with that, I think it is more easy for one or two stud athletes to dominate, where when you get to the varsity level it becomes more of a team game.

Halftime Clock
When was the last time anyone was at a game where 2 bands performed? I can't tell you the last time I saw that.

Ryle 28 CovCath 27 (Frosh)
Isn't it awfully early to determine the impact of the CC MS program? How many future Colonels are playing in places other then the CC MS feeder team? - NKYFL - Boone County League - Ft. Thomas League

In its 3rd year of Existence - 6 classes of Football
I figured Bell would love it. Next to Central they probably benefited the most from the new set up, as they now get to avoid both Highlands and Cov. Cath.

Mike Fields Top 30
I agree with you based on nothing other than the fact that I can't remember the last time that there were four better teams in the state than Trinity. Seems crazy. After two (2) weeks, it is really hard to know exactly how good any of these teams are.
-
In its 3rd year of Existence - 6 classes of Football
Hate it, hate it, hate it. However, without a doubt the biggest winner in the expanded playoffs is Louisville Central.
-
Mike Fields Top 30
Not that either of them deserve to be there, it has been a long long time since Beechwood and NCC have both not been in the top 30 teams in the state. Very crazy year.

Your NKY Top Ten
I am not "flipping out of my computer chair"; however, wouldn't it be nice to know who voted for SK? - Marksberry - Schneider (we all know how much he loves Mueller) - Spritzky (despite being his alma mater, I think he shares Schneider's affection for Mueller). - Mueller himself - OK that maybe a little over the top. - Someone else???? Also if the votes were public, would SK have still received one?

Covington Catholic/Cincinnati LaSalle Predictions
Didn't LaSalle struggle to beat Oak Hills? Does that give CC hope?

- Did Boyle County run up score?
You bring up a good point. JC chose to play in this game, which is much different than a top notched team putting touchdown after touchdown on the board against an undermanned district opponent in which neither team has any choice in scheduling.- Did Boyle County run up score?
Too bad that a team can't simulate the time and game situation in practice because it would allow them to not have to put an extra 7 on the board against an inferrior opponent in a game and show some sportsmanship. - Did Boyle County run up score?
