Is anyone interested? Ray Kues?

I am sure people will be interested. Great school, brand new locker rooms, new weight room. I am very anxious to see who comes out with this coaching position. I spoke to a very solid coach last night who seems ready to throw his/her hat in the ring.

What about Marty Petroze? Keri Shields? Kes Murphy?

Marty Petroze doesn't seek the spotlight.... but, he's probably the best coach in Northern Kentucky.

Kes Murphy is over at Cov Cath and probaby wants to stay to coach his son.

Who were the JV/Freshman coaches last year? I'm sure they would look internal first, wouldn't you think? Do the internal coaches have a lot of experience?

He was let go at Brossart and Silver Grove. He isn't going to be hired at Notre Dame. Obviously winning isn't the only qualification schools are looking for. I have no idea what the circumstances were at these schools, but there has to be a reason for his dismissals.

How about Aaron Stamm? He sure turned that Ludlow program around. He really starts working with the girls from the elementary ages which would fair even better at a bigger religion based school. The man will flat work his butt off scouting and other things which the girls always respond to. He really leads by example. Also girls will always excell off the court under him too. He is very consistant in teaching girls the meaning of respect as well as what being a STUDENT athlete is all about which is too often forgotten about these days. Also I'd put him up as far as coaching smarts against anyone in the state boys or girls. He knows how to coach players and makes good decisions during crunch time.

 

I would hate to see him leave Ludlow, but honestly the man has worked hard enough to earn a chance at a bigger school if he is given the chance.

That is an excellent suggestion.

Coach Kues chose to walk away from the program that he rebuilt due to a "current member on staff" wanting the position. When you see the new coaching staff you will understand that your statement is very incorrect. Coach K made the promise to see the current soph group at the Grove thru their Senior year, but their are things that you can not change; death, taxes and politics........ and well as much as it hurt him to resign that is what did happen an we in Silver Grove are not very happy:madman:

I know there were politics involved at Silver Grove, and I also know who you are referring to, so you are right on that count. I also know it was a very different situation at Brossart, however.

I do agree with you on the former NCC coach. She would be an excellent choice as she won 2 regional titles at NCC and lost in the finals twice also. I think you are correct in suspecting she would not be ready to step away from watching and being involved in coaching her children at this point, however.

Not sure there was a blanket feeling of wanting him gone rather than just a MASSIVE conflict between Coach Kues and AD Mel Webster.

Northern Kentucky has never produced a coach that has been able to compete at the state level.

 

Given that fact, why would Notre Dame even consider someone that used to coach at Brossart, Silver Grove, Ludlow, NCC, or anywhere else that has been mentioned here?

 

I would go with fresh talent.

 

IF he wants the job, Marty Petroze would be my man.

 

He understands the game better than anyone else in the area.

 

And, he knows how to get the very best out of a player.

 

I guarantee Marty Petroze would aim to be competitive on a state level, not just a Region 9 level.
