What winless team breaks a long streak??

Featured Replies

There are 49 teams in KY that are winless heading into this Friday (7 in 6A, 8 in 5A, 7 in 4A, 7 in 3A, 7 in 2A, and 13 in 1A)

Following are the teams with the longest current losing streaks. One of the 10 will definitely end its frustration (South Oldham plays Waggener)...which of those two wins, and will any other in the list do so???

2A Fort Knox 34 straight losses vs. 3-0 2A Fort Campbell (not likely, IMO)

1A Bracken Co. 21 straight losses vs 0-3 1A Ludlow (possibly)

5A South Oldham 19 losses vs. 0-2 Waggener (somebody gets well)

4A Madison Southern 17 losses vs. 5A Montgomery Co. (1-2)

3A Moore 16 losses vs. 4A Fairdale (outlook dim for Mustangs)

5A Waggener 15 losses vs. 5A South Oldham (see above)

1A Clinton County 12 losses vs. 3A Casey County (1-2)

5A Ohio County 12 losses vs. 6A Central Hardin

2A Todd Co. Central 11 losses vs. 3-0 Grayson County

1A South Floyd 11 losses vs. Paintsville (1-2)

Either South Oldham or Waggener leaves this list this week...Bracken County has a great opportunity vs. Ludlow...but the rest all go into this week as decided underdogs...

WOW! Did not realize Ft. Knox hasn't won a game in over 3 years, that is amazing.

Bracken will not leave the list tonight.

I don't expect Moore to knock off Fairdale tonight, but the Mustangs do appear to be much improved this season. Two close losses to North Oldham and Louisville Holy Cross. I think they'll be off this list pretty soon.

So a few times now I have seen post by you saying that Bracken has a great chance to end it tonight, and should be an exciting game just like a Trinity vs. St. X. game where its a close and exciting game. However I have to ask why you think that? I mean Bracken really has never came close beaten Ludlow in any of the games they have played since 2003 and even that game wasn't really as close as the final score. Not to mention Bracken lost to the team that they had THEIR BEST CHANCE TO BEAT in Brossart by a score of 38 to 0 correct? Brossart which is a team that probably will finish last again in their district. So can you please tell me why you think they might tonight? I mean yeah anything is possible, but I just curious as to why? Have you seen either of the teams play? Do you see something that you think that Bracken does that would work against Ludlow? What is it that makes you think this right now? Ludlow while 0 and 2 has lost to a school that would be a 4A school in Ky, and Carroll Co who has a pretty good team, and both games Ludlow was right in it till the final minute? So while it is possible for Bracken to win, I just don't see it happening or why you think that. In all honesty I don't even see the game being that close.

Bracken will not leave the list tonight.

Bracken County's streak in my mind is actually at 46 or so, they had a victory several years ago against a beginning, mostly JV squad from Manchester,Ohio. I wouldn't even count that, though they do. Their last victory to me was in 2004 against Bath County.

There are now 32 teams looking for win #1 of the 2009 season, as 17 winless teams got their first victory last week. We are assured that a couple of losing streaks will end this Friday as 6A Marshall County (9 straight losses) plays 6A Muhlenberg County (4 straight) and 2A Todd County Central (12 consecutive losses) plays 1A Fulton City (5 straight losses).

The top 10 watch list:

Fort Knox 35 straight losses at KCD (3-1)

Bracken County 22 losses vs Pendleton County

Madison Southern 18 losses at East Jessamine

Moore 17 losses vs. Valley

Waggener 16 losses (lost by 6 in OT last week); vs. North Bullitt this week

Ohio County 13 losses at Union County

Todd Co Central 12 losses vs. Fulton City (5 straight losses)

South Floyd 12 losses does not play this week

Fulton County 12 losses at Reidland

Atherton 9 losses vs. Bullitt Central

Marshall County 9 losses at Muhlenberg Co (4 straight losses)

Major streaks that ended last week:

Congrats to these teams that ended a lot of frustration last Friday...

South Oldham had lost 19 straight, but beat Waggener, 22-16, in OT

1A Clinton County had lost 12 straight, but slammed 3A Casey Co., 24-0

Breckinridge Co ended a 10 game losing skid by topping Adair Co, 15-8

Good luck to all the underdogs! :thumb:

I'm going to step out on a limb and say that two teams will come off of the winless list Friday night. Fulton City will take care of business against Todd Central. Not to knock Todd Central, but their defense just doesn't understand the basic fundamentals, and Fulton City has enough talent to get a TD on the board and roll with it. My second pick is that Muhlenberg Co. gets a win to break their streak. They have the numbers and size to be a decent team, and a win will help their confidence level greatly.

Breckinridge Co ended a 10 game losing skid by topping Adair Co, 15-8

Then they celebrated by taking the team bus directly to church and getting baptized.
