The approach of that coaching family is simply that if someone cannot play, pay the price, willing to work, and be totally dedicated, then they are run off. I see their point to a point, but with that being said, times change and so must styles. I will leave it at that.

I can't see Russell going as far as they have the past two years, too many losses in personnel. I look for Central or Tilhman to take it this year.

I have to disagree with that statement, good coaching helps, no doubt, but in order to be sucessful anywhere you must have players. To get players you must have support from the top. If Lloyd will really go all out for Yeagle, he will win, if they only support him minimally, then he will have decent respectable teams, nothing like he had at Beechwood. Support is the key to winning!

The job will be open again in 2 years, like it has been there forever. "Git rid" of the coach, but never the administration!

This kind of junk has been going on in Greenup for years! I blame the leadership of the school system, not the coaches for this mess. People there should demand more from their school system and stop putting up with this drama all the time.

Interesting article, trust me when I tell you, coaches are not let go during the season unless something bad happened, and from the sounds of the support of the parents toward coach Hicks, that didn't happen. Sounds to me like the coach didn't work and play well with the big boys, need to pay CLOSE attention to that article, it will reveal the real problem.

I'm not sure this kid will play in the NBA, takes more than ability to make it in the pro's.

I personnaly can't wait for this kid to go to college, then maybe people will shut up and leave him alone.

Sounds like someone other than the coach needs to be terminated in that school system.

I sure hope so coach, you know my background and thoughts on that situation. B.L. had always managed to find a way to mess things up, even when they have quality people trying to build a program. B.L. must have support from the top. The administration at B.L. has neglected the football program for many years, they have got to hire some quality help, no one man can do the job on his own.

Guys, its all about support from the top. When Eddie Wayne was the Super, they had it and they rocked and rolled. The way things are now, they don't have it. I don't think L.C. will be back on top until they have someone in that job that will support them, regardless if Goldsmith stays or leaves.

This guy has done a great job there! An interesting aspect to that is this, he has only had 3 D1 players during his tenure, imagine that, 5 State titles in class 4A and only 3 D1 signees! Two things are certain, he can coach, and Trinity will find a quality replacement if he decides to go on.

Congrats to Kevin! He and I go back many years! Kevin is a very solid coach that could go somewhere else and maybe win more trophies, but he is dedicated to West Carter. They are lucky to have a class individual coaching the football team! Hope to see you guys again in a couple of weeks!!!

I think we need to keep this in its perspective, had this person killed someone, seriously offended someone, called someone by name, OK an apology or more would be needed. Making a geographical mistake, C'MON guys, get tougher than that! Our feel good society thinks we need an apology or a lawsuit for every little mistake. No problem here! You bring up some interesting points, I think you are right in the sense that they are a little on the young side, I think that probably impacted the outcome of the game more than anything, maturity has a lot to do with handling big games and pressure.

I have been reading this thread and I think there is a lot of unfair criticism of Coach Jackson. Yes, Pikeville should have won this game, but to be fair and honest, how can you blame everything on the coach? When you look at what Coach J has done, he has been very successful everywhere he has been. I don't really know what the deal is down in Pikeville, but personnally I do not think its a coaching issue. That town has way too many chiefs and not enough indians in that school system. A coach must be allowed to run the program, give him a reasonable amount of time i.e. 5 years, then evaluate the progress or lack thereof.
