What does it take to fix the Problems within KNOTT CO.

Don't they have a .500 record and are getting ready to play in the regional semifinals?

 

I'm guessing they have suffered from lost enrollment over the last ten years. They used to be a huge school in a region of little schools. Now they're small, much like everyone else in the 14th.

They are still one of the largest schools in the 14th. I am not from the Knott area but what I read on here for the last three years is there are factions in the KCC program and all the political in fighting is killing the program. They are finishing out strong this year but I still hear alot of complaining about the coach or other kids shooting to much. Let the kids play and it will all work out. Knott has a ton of talent. Just to many adults with thier own agenda's

I see nothing wrong with Knott county basketball. They lost several games this year by single digits, and that was lack of experience. Their one senior can only do so much. He has done a great job and the younger kids are starting to follow suit. They have some great freshman and sophomores and a great 8th grade class coming up. Knott just needs to pick a coach and stay with him for more than a year. They let the kids get used to someone and get rid of them, that is no way to run a program. When administrators kids play the adults try to get way to involved, same problem that they are having in perry county this year too. All the adults need to stay out of it and let the kids play and coaches coach. Knott has a great chance to win the region this year, if they play together and hit some free throws. Coach Amburgey has done a good job working with them this year and has taken them farther than they have been in a long time! Keep up the hard work boys, it's paying off in the end. Hard to say there is too much wrong right now. They are playing in the semi fianls of the region after beating one of the favorites to win the region in JBS. Sure, they struggled some during the season, but they showed signs of a good team all season long. They are just getting it together at the right time.

As it stands right now, there is nothing wrong with KCC's boys basketball. I believe that they made a good choice with Amburgey. He seems to be a good fit for the program. In the past politics has taken the program down. They have the right basketball, boys and girls, coach, the right football coach, and the right baseball coach.

 

Most of the BOE members know where I stand. They've read my post in the past and have responded. My stand is that each and every kid that plays any sport has the same opportunity as the rest. Each program should be treated with the same respect that the others do. It hasn't in the past, but it's getting better. And I really appreciate the BOE in understanding this. IMO, there is only one change that still needs to be made. They, BOE, knows what that is.
