I think Owensboro is capable of beating them, they can match them athletically, and have the horses to score as well. I think it’s just a matter of Owensboro playing up the the potential they have. They have some really impressive looking athletes when they walk out onto the field. I hope we get the chance to see them play.

Much better than 2020. Most of the same kids starting on that 2020 team are still around today. They are massive up front and every kid is a senior on the line besides one junior, and a ton of those kids are 5th year seniors at that. They are a little banged up at the moment and have very little depth after the starters, but the starting 11 are very very good when healthy.

The Dragons play host to the undefeated 8-0 Hornets of Metcalfe County at Dragon stadium this Friday night, in what should be a super competitive game with a ton on the line including a district title. Not only is this one a District title game, this game gives a pass of having to more than likely matching up with LCA in round two if they beat Danville. A second round game at LCA is not what you want to face that early in the playoffs. The Dragons come in off a big win over Edmonson County where almost the entire Dragon starting lineup was able to rest the second half after taking a 38-0 halftime lead. The Dragons come into the game healthy and really playing well on offense, outside of turnovers, the Dragons offense has been explosive in all phases of the game. Metcalfe County comes in a littlE banged up, but still playing very good football and are massive across the front and really get after you with the front four. If the injured hornets are able to play this week, I think they have a good shot of winning this game, if not, I like the Dragons by one to two touchdowns. This game should be a battle, and holds massive implications for both. Give me the Dragons 36-28 in a slugfest.

I’d say Mayfield wins this one pretty easily. Murray seems to have issues stopping people on defense, and I don’t see them being able to stop the Mayfield offense, let alone scoring enough points on the Mayfield defense to keep it close.

They will both get regular points for being same class, but MCLean has a much better RPI and win loss record when compared to Murray. I think OCath passes mayfield next week, and if Mayfield beats MNH, which I suspect they will, they will pass Catholic back the last week of the season. It’s going to be very close either way.

I’m not certain on this, but I would think it would be Perry Thomas. He won a bunch of games at Campbellsville High, and was a very good coach for them.

This one was much closer than I expected. How did this one go?

No… Taylor will beat Adair by 35 plus. Taylor is finally healthy, and made some major changes to the defensive front and personnel and it looks like it’s payed off. If I’m Union and PT, I’m disappointed I am getting Glasgow as a 4 seed and Taylor as a three seed. Both are very talented and aren’t your normal first round games.

Huge win for Nelson. Congrats and keep on winning, they deserve it.

It’s amazing that Trinity has beat the teams they have and how bad they have beat them, only to take multiple losses to in state competition. It’s a testament to how much better KY football has gotten overall that anyone in Kentucky has beat them. I’m also on the side of Guru here, Trinity could easily win it all this year.

Hopefully Berger isn’t hurt to bad. What an all around great player he is. If he is out, that changed the entire landscape of class 2A. Just a tough thing to happen to a great player and team.

I’ve said it multiple times, Taylor is undefeated when they have the entire starting team playing. They have been hit with the injury bug hard, and with those kids now healthy, watch out. If Taylor gets the defense going, they are talented enough to beat anyone in 3a not named CAL.

Campbellsville is a good football team. They have some explosive athletes and a very good freshman QB. They don’t have a bad loss this year and will only get better as the young guys get more experience. This is a big win for them, and they could win that district.

Dragons win in a final of 38-16. Green does what it’s supposed to in the first half and lead 38-0 at halftime. The JV/Freshman play the entire second half with the starters sitting after half and Edmonson plays hard until the end of the game and puts up two scores for the final. The Dragons play for the district title next week at home vs Metcalfe.

Green leads 38-0 at the half. The Dragons have dominated this game from the start. Houchens has 3 sacks, blocked punt and two forced fumbles with around 65-80 yards rushing. Seymour has scored a rushing TD, punt return TD, and a fumble return Td. Just a great game all around for the Dragons.

I honestly don’t have a clue who is calling the plays, but I know if I am running the ball for 7-8 yards a carry, I don’t throw three straight passes when I haven’t completed them consistently. I completely understand trying to keep a defense honest, but that’s if they are loading the box and having success against you in stuffing the run, the three games I watched that wasn’t the case. PT was running it at will, and just threw the ball for no other reason than to throw it. Obviously Coach Thompson is a great coach, and I’d say he knows his team better than I, but I didn’t understand the play calls at all. Just one man’s lowly opinion.

I don’t know why, but I just feel Highlands gets the win in this game. Give me the birds 35-28.

North should win this game pretty convincingly, but I’ve learned with North, (See two weeks ago with Meade County) they can allow teams that are much worse in the talent department to keep it close and sometimes beat them. I’ll still go North by 3tds.

Union CountyParis Trinity Boyd County Highlands

Metcalfe wins this one pretty easily. Metcalfe is really good, and shouldn’t have much of an issue with this game unless they are looking forward to next week, but I don’t see that happening after a bye week.

That Green County vs Metcalfe County game for first seed in district 3 is going to be massively important, as neither would want to meet LCA in the second round as the two seed. And that’s if they were even able to get by the 3 seed which is likely to be Somerset. That’s 5 teams that are arguably top 10 teams in 2A this season playing in the first two rounds against each other. Talk about tough.

I’ve watched three PT games and have walked away scratching my head with the way they call plays. They will run it down a teams throat for 5 plays and just gash the other team and then throw three straight passes for no reason. It’s baffling.

The Dragons picked up a tough win Friday night over Warren Central and have won four straight to push their record to 5-2. This week they await Edmonson county and a chance to push the record to 6-2 and 3-0 in the district race. Edmonson comes in after a big win against Clinton County two weeks ago and should be healthy after the bye week. The Dragons put up right at 600 yards of total offense last week and had two guys almost rush for 150 yards a piece. Blake Houchens has gotten better and better as the year has gone on and is averaging 8 yards a carry along with over 100 yards a game, he is followed by junior RB Julian Seymour who has been great in the run game and averages over 6 yards a carry and 77 yards a game, but he has been even more important as a lockdown linebacker out on the edge of the defense. The Dragons have really thrown the football well and Houston Hodges has been great all year and seems to have only gotten better as the year continues. The Dragon offense has been explosive all year and I expect more of the same this week. The question that looms is, can Edmonson score enough to keep this game close? Give me the Dragons with a score of 46-12.

Is there anywhere I could watch a replay of this game? If the Dragons get the one seed or the two seed in district, they will meet one of these two teams in the first or second round and it’s always fun to see the teams they may play Thanks.
