I was really impressed with Warren Central. Green County didn’t do themselves any favors in this game, and Warren Central took advantage of those miscues. Which is a sign of a good team. I’m not sure how many yards Central finished with, but it was a bunch. Green on the other hand had two touchdowns called back, two for sure Tds dropped in the endzone on different drives and had a snap the QB wasn’t even looking for that went into the endzone and was recovered by Warren Central to start the second half. All of this will get Green beat later on if it continues. Green also has some great coverage on receivers that just went up and made unreal catches, at least twice Green had a defender right in the face of the receiver and went up for the ball and the Reciever just took it from them with an amazing catch and scored. You just tip your hat and say good play on those. Houchens Finished with an easy 100 plus yards and 3tds along with a few receptions and multiple tackles including two sacks. Seymour had a big night running the ball as well, with well over 100 yards and good play of defense. Houston Hodges threw for at least 250 yards and 2Tds and looked really good. Kelson McKinney also has a massive night with around 165 to 175 yards receiving with 2 touchdowns as well.

Finally back to the car, and able to charge the phone. Green was able to pull out the win, not the best effort of year, but a win is a win. Some very sloppy play and mental mistakes that almost cost Green this game and will do so down the road if they don’t fix those mistakes. With that said, Warren central has some great athletes that made some insane catches and have speed to burn. They are much improved and I take nothing from them, they gave it there all and played a great game. Congrats to them on a hard fought game.

Bardstown is the real deal. Hazard isn’t a bad team by any means, so for Bardstown to shut them out while having all the injuries they have, is super impressive. Congrats to both a solid game.

Green Scores again and leads 22-14. Green County has moved the ball well and have hit the pass and run well, haven’t looked great on defense but have gotten pressure on the QB, but he’s a great athlete and runs it hard and throws a good ball.

Green County drives the field and scores. Houchens with his second touchdown of the night and it’s 14-6. Warren Central hits right back with a 50 yard TD pass after two dragon defenders run into each other. 14-14 game. Green with the ball and driving again.

Green County leads 8-6 at the end of the first quarter with Green County driving.

I could see this pushing some teams higher or lower from the previous class they were apart of. Should be interesting to see where everyone falls.

If that’s true, then my assumption is wrong with Catholic. I know they are good, I watched most of the Owensboro game, and was having a hard time understanding how Todd was that close with them. You hit the nail on the head with a few guys going out, changing the season completely for teams. We have two or three kids for Green County that are game changers and couldn’t be replaced. Such is the life of a small team school.

I’m not so sure about that. Owensboro Catholic just had a close game with Todd County Central, so they aren’t unbeatable for sure. LCA with all the injuries is also not unbeatable, and have given up some massive numbers to teams on defense, Mayfield and Beechwood seem to be the most for sure things in the class, but Mayfield hasn’t played anyone with a chance to beat them since PT, no fault of there own on that. If a team is able to take away the run game of Beechwood with Berger, I think a team could have a shot with Beechwood, but good luck with that.

If Bardstown was completely healthy I think they win this game handily, but as it stands right now, I feel with all the injuries and uncertainty for the Tigers, they could very well have a little let down while guys adjust to new roles and the added pressure to perform at an even higher level to make up for the lost production. So I'm going to go with Hazard in this one. Hazard 28-21

I'm going with the upset.. Give me Catholic by a score of 42-35.

Warren Central comes into Greensburg to face Green County at Dragon Stadium this Friday. This has all the makings of a new episode for Game of Thrones, with the Battle of the Dragons as the episode title. Should be a ton of Dragons all over the field Friday night. Warren Central comes in as an very improved team with a tough loss to a very good Warren East team last week. Warren Central has some really good athletes and could be a handful for the Dragons on Defense. I hope Green County is ready to play this week and can match the speed with what Warren Central kids play with. I was really impressed with them and the fight they showed in the games I watched on film. Green County comes in this game after winning three straight and having dominated a very solid Campbellsville squad last week. Green County had there best defensive effort of the year last week and really put pressure on the QB for Campbellsville and had over 400 yards of total offense. I expect Green to have success on offense, but worry if they will be as solid in the back half of the defense this week, they will need to get pressure all game again and be sure tacklers against a very fast and elusive Warren Central team. Give me Green 42-28 in the Battle of the Dragons.

Green has really come on in the last three weeks. Before the year started I believed the Dragons would take some lumps along the way, as they have a ton of guys playing new positions, and a bunch of youngsters starting. They took some hits but have gotten steadily better as the year has gone on and look better each week. If they keep getting better each week, they are going to be a tough out for anyone. The Dragons can throw the football this year and it’s changed the dynamic for them moving the ball. I hope to see the Green Dragons carry that momentum into this week with Warren Central, who could beat Green if they don’t come to play or have an off game. Central has really gotten better and I expect them to be a tough game for us.

I get going fast when it’s called for, but it doesn’t do any good when you constantly kill your own drives with penalties. I also think this kills your defense for having to be on the field all game after you have to punt if you don’t succeed on offense. I get the idea, but you better be able to accomplish that goal or you are doing the exact opposite to your own defense.

Man, Pikeville looks like an entirely different animal right now. I wish whoever has to play them in 1A luck.

Green County with a dominating win tonight. Outside of the Dragons having somewhere around 10-15 penalties and at least 7-8 holding calls, they played great football. The Dragons pressured QB Eastridge all night and Houchens had at least 4 sacks himself and numerous tackles for loss. He also ran for over 100 yards and just had a dominating performance. Seymour played great as well along with playing smothering coverage on weathers all night long, but the game ball tonight goes to Logan Slinker with four touchdown catches and easily 130 yards receiving. Campbellsville has some nice athletes, but Green County matched them across the board with speed and controlled the line of scrimmage and had pressure the entire night. I think Canpbellsville will cause some Issues for teams down the road, they have a really young and talented team. Great win for the Dragons who wait for Warren Central to roll into town for what should be a great and tough game for the Dragons again.

Yes. They seem to play really well one week and terrible the next. Body Language was ugly this entire game, and I've heard rumors of some really disgruntled parents and players, including parents, players and coaches getting into some very heated arguments after and during games. The good news for Taylor is, they haven't lost a game where Smith played the entire game. Bad news is, they haven't won one without him. Taylor with Smith playing are 100 times better than without, and they have loads of talent, but they run the dumbest defense I've seen with the talent they have. They literally sent all out blitz against Casey tonight and tried to play man with freshman in the secondary and Casey picked them apart and killed them with screens. Taylor never adjusted and just kept sending everyone and trying to play man, even after being beat over and over. It was baffling to say the least. I hope they turn it around, but at this point, I honestly don't see it happening.

Warren Central with another big win. When was the last time Central had a record over 500? Its awfully impressive what they have done this year. Congrats on the win and keep it going.

Peyton Smith didn't play, and he makes Taylor 2-4 TDs better. Kid is averaging over 200 yards a game. It also appeared they had 5 or more starters out for this game. Multiple kids who played in the Green County game weren't dressed for this one. Taylor is a very different team with those kids playing. Hopefully they get healthy and are able to be at full strength by the end of the year. With that said, Casey has a very good team, and they get after you, I really like the way they play, and the Glasgow, and Hart games for them are going to be some great games.

What a dominating performance from the Dragons. The Dragons led 40-0in the first quarter and scored the first play of the second quarter and the freshman team played the rest of the game. Clinton played hard and those kids never gave up, congrats to them on a hard fought game. The Dragons run the record to 3-2 and welcome Campbellsville to town next week which should be a great game.

Green Leads 40-0 at the end of the first quarter. The Dragons have dominated every facet of this game. Young guys are in and hopefully this game doesn't get to out of hand score wise.

The Dragons make the trip to Clinton County to take on the Bulldogs. Clinton comes into this game 0-5, and have had a tough year to this point, but those young men play hard and I expect they will bring a ton of heart and effort to this game. The Dragons come into this game 2-2, but have played much better the last two weeks and the young guys seem to have turned the corner offensively, and hopefully start to put things together defensively. I expect the Dragons to dominate this game and roll into next week with a big game coming against Campbellsville. Give me the Dragons 44-0

Honestly I never really thought about that until your comment, I wouldn't think it should matter, but It very well might have influenced the decision. Sort of the we can hire a KY guy and win a title too type deal. This is just curiosity on my part, but does anyone on here know if they took many applications from national coaches and if they ever even really considered them? Did they get any top state coaches to apply? I never really heard.

When I posted this is the most talented and deepest Hart County team I’d seen, I didn’t even realize that the best two running backs for Hart County didn’t even play in this game. Jordan Bradley has been out since the first game, and is a big physical back who also is the fastest player on the team, and I figured they sat him out until district play, but he was again unavailable for this game. He’s a difference maker for them, and they only get better with him on the field. The second best back for Hart county is Clark Rexroat who didn’t play. He’s the Swiss Army knife who can catch it, run it, and plays defense and never leaves the field. He’s super fast and makes plays all over the field for the Raiders. This bolds well for future success of the raiders if those guys are able to come back fully healthy.

I was obviously being a bit sarcastic with that statement, it’s obvious Coach Cobb can coach, he has won to many games for that not to be true. I also still think Trinity makes the title game this year, and wins it all, if the starting QB comes back fully healthy. I think Deuce hit the nail on the head with how I feel about the hire of Coach Cobb with his earlier comment. Trinity could have looked nationally and chose the easy way out with hiring Coach Cobb. Nothing against him or the staff, I just felt Trinity could have done better. Either way, it wouldn’t have been an easy task for any Coach or staff to follow the Bob Beatty regime, and I doubt we will ever see anything like what he did at Trinity ever again.
