How is Hancock number four with the teams they have played? The teams they have played, (Outside of Tell City IN, who I didn't take the time to look up) have two combined wins after 5 games, with one win against Caverna, and the other is two teams Hancock played, played each other. That is good for a combined 2-17 record of the teams they have played. I don't understand how an RPI system could be designed to favor playing bad large schools to get wins to this extent.

How is Danville and Middlesboro still ranked at this point? Danville has lost three straight and from the game threads I've read, seems to have imploded. The Boro just barely beat Harlan, who barely beat Berea a few weeks earlier. I just don't see either as top 10 team right now.

I was one of the first to say I didn’t think this was a great hire, and I still feel that way for the most part. As I have a feeling better pedigree coaches applied and I feel Trinity could have gotten a better overall coach. With that said, Coach Cobb just ran off a 3-1 record before this game with arguably one of the toughest schedules in all of the Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky area. The coaching staff obviously can coach to some extent or you don’t win those games against the teams they have played. I also think all of this disappears if Trinity wins a state title, as I suspect they very well might do. I wish the Shamrocks success for the rest of the season.

PT is extremely talented, but have to get all the pieces to gel at the right time. Right now, they just aren’t clicking. Mayfield is very good, but lack a big line that can control the line of scrimmage and consistently to run the football. If Starks gets hurt or is still hurt from last week, they don’t have a back anywhere close to what he brings to the table. Mayfield isn’t unbeatable, and would have there hands full with Beechwood or LCA, and not sure they beat OCath. The teams in 2A after those 4 would need those teams to still have injuries to the guys they have out now to beat them, or I believe that. I hope those young men get healthy, but if they don’t, it opens 2A into a free for all. Cal looks to be the class of 3a, and have looked great against good teams.

I’ve seen most of the Hart County teams in the last 20 years, this is by far the deepest and most explosive one I’ve ever seen. I’m not sure they can stop Taylor enough to win, but they will be competitive. I knew Hart was improved and returned a great amount of talent from last year, and they have put it together this year. I still didn’t believe they would pull the upset this year, and believed it would most likely be next year, as they are still a junior and sophomore dominated team, but they will be a top 5-7 team to start 3a next year for sure, as they return the house. They very well could lose to Casey and Taylor or beat both. I don’t see anyway they lose to Adair. Green County dominated Adair in a scrimmage and did whatever they wanted for the most part with them, and you all know how the Hart and Green game went. Glasgow is still a very good team, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they still don’t lose a another game until the regional finals or the semi state.

Have no idea why it didn’t post the score. I had sketchy service on the way home and I assume that was the culprit.

I honestly don’t know if Green County can beat Beechwood, Mayfield, or LCA if all are healthy, but I do believe if they continue to improve and build on the success of the last two weeks and the young guys have a full season of play, they could very well upset the top three if they aren’t at full strength. The Dragons skill guys can play with anyone, it’s just a matter of line play and if the defense continues to improve. Plus everyone seems to be ignoring Metcalfe county, who is massive across the front line and has some really good play at the skill spots as well. They are a really solid team, and I think they could pull an upset as well if they get and stay healthy.

What an upset.. I told people Hart had really improved and I knew they could be competitive, but didn’t see them getting the upset. Congrats the Raiders, what a great game this one was.

The Dragons dominated this one and have really played much better the last two weeks. Monroe is improved, but the Dragons are just to explosive on offense and have really picked up on the front line the last two weeks. The young guys are starting to put the pieces together. I wish luck to Monroe next week and the rest of the season.

I honestly think 5 thru about 15 could beat each other on any given night. I know the Dragons dropped out this week, but I believe they are one of the best 10 teams in the class if they can figure out how to stop anyone defensively. I also think Metcalfe is better than Danville and would beat the Ads by about two touchdowns. 2A is a weird class now that LCA hasn't looked unbeatable, giving others hope to maybe reach the title game, but then again, the competition they have played is better than anyone else in 2a, they will be battle tested and ready to play anyone, especially once they get healthy.

The Dragons travel to Monroe County to take on the Falcons. I believe the Dragons come out ready to play in this one and right the ship and get into the win column again. The Dragons put up over 450 yards of offense last week with Blake Houchens having 200 plus yards rushing and receiving while Seymour had 80 plus yards rushing and scored 3tds. QB Hodges threw for 180 yards and looked solid again in this game, and I look for that to continue this week. Monroe had a tough sledding going against Barren, and couldn't get anything going offensively. The Dragons defense has been the issue this year, so Monroe may have some success and could win this game if the Dragons overlook them and play a bad game. The Dragons are a dangerous team offensively, and can score with the best of them, but if they want to win district or play deep into the playoffs, they will need to figure out how to stop teams defensively. Who do you think wins this game and why?

If Boley is out for a long period or the entire year, I wonder how LCA will look without him? Will they be able to win the games they have left, and how far do they drop without him?

I can't help but not cheer on Nelson with the turnaround they have accomplished. They have truly bought in and have really put in the work and are super physical and get after it. I hope to see them be super competitive with E-town and maybe even pull the upset.

I mean no disrespect, but can you really count giving up 60 as getting better?

Congrats to Bardstown. They are always a great team year in and year out. I thought they would win this game, but didn't expect the shutout. Hearsay, I know you are around that area, what's the chances Nelson keeps is close with E-town after having played and having seen E-town?

I agree. I think Taylor is a little better than they have played, and will be a tough out if they figure out how to stop anyone on defense. Casey is a really solid team as well, and they have a kid who can sling it. They are fun to watch.

Unfortunately same can be said for Green County at the moment. Haha

Wow... Didn't see this one coming. I thought Cal could win, but this margin is wild. Congrats to CAL.

I think he is very likely to be the top, if not, he is top 2. With that said, he doesn't split carriers like Houchens or Seymour, and plays very little to no defense, which both those kids from Green never leave the field. He also has the luxury of running behind a massive offensive line that is anchored by a Division 1 tackle, and has a very experienced line to run behind at that. The Dragons are starting one to two Freshman on the offensive line at any given moment, and Houchens and Seymour don't go untouched for 5-8 yards on many carriers like Smith. That isn't to take anything away from the young man, he is absolutely the best back I've ever seen at Taylor and will own every record they have for scoring and rushing when he leaves, and I for see him only getting better with time, and I still think he might be the best back in the area, but he has a bunch of things going for him that the two backs from Green don't. If we are talking overall player in the area, give me Houchens any day of the week. The young man is going to lead his team in sacks, be close to leading them in tackles, and will rush for over a thousand yards and most likely have 400-500 yards receiving as well, all the while never leaving the field. The hardest part for me is Julian Seymour will also do many of the same things as Houchens, he just doesn't have the size as Houchens yet. If he grows another 3-4 inches and adds another 20-30 pounds, Seymour is a division 1 recruit.

Final. Great game by both teams, neither defense decided to show, but this one didn't have a lack of effort. Taylor doesn't win this game if Payton Smith doesn't play, he scored at least 3 TDs and had close to 175-200 yards rushing. He has to be one the best running backs in the state in his class, and will rush for another 2000 yards this season as long as he stays healthy. Houchens for Green had to have 150-175 yards rushing and around 40-50 yards receiving as well. Seymour played great for the Dragons along with Ferguson and Bale. Tough loss, but overall a much better performance than last week for the Dragons.

The Dragons have no timeouts and Taylor runs out the clock. The pass interference call was a back breaker, it would have kept the drive going if not have been a catch, but that football, not every call goes your way, but give credit to Taylor, they played with a ton of heart and Effort and pulled out the win. This is the Green County offense I expected all year and they finally played up to there potential. Defensively they have a long way to go. If the young guys finally figure it out on defense, I wouldn’t want to meet the Dragons later on during the playoffs. This team is capable, and have the talent of a top 5 2A team, just have to put it all together.

Taylor comes right back and scores. The Dragons answer back and Taylor scores again to retake the lead 45-42. The Dragons throw a deep ball and the Dragon receiver is interfered with and a no call and an interception. Taylor is driving with the ball now trying to run out the clock.

Dragons score and miss the two point conversion. Taylor leads 37-36 with about 10 to go. Taylor has it 4th and 15 on the 45 yard line with a timeout called.

Houchens with a 55 yard catch down to the 15. Seymour down to the 4. It’s first and goal for the Dragons.

Taylor has taken the lead on two big runs by Smith. 37-30 Taylor with about 2 minutes to go the third.
