Taylor County 45 Green County 42

Final. Great game by both teams, neither defense decided to show, but this one didn't have a lack of effort. Taylor doesn't win this game if Payton Smith doesn't play, he scored at least 3 TDs and had close to 175-200 yards rushing. He has to be one the best running backs in the state in his class, and will rush for another 2000 yards this season as long as he stays healthy.

Houchens for Green had to have 150-175 yards rushing and around 40-50 yards receiving as well. Seymour played great for the Dragons along with Ferguson and Bale. Tough loss, but overall a much better performance than last week for the Dragons.

@xLAZYx. Where you at???

Still think Smith isn’t the best skill player in area?

Watching the game. Well was. Smith is a good player but the best in the area is hard to justify when there is just as much tanleted players in the area. He is towards the top. As said in the prediction Smith makes the game competitive but didn't make them 3 scores better as predicted. So as everyone said close game as it was.

It looks like he was the best on the field tonight…stats don’t lie.

I think he is very likely to be the top, if not, he is top 2. With that said, he doesn't split carriers like Houchens or Seymour, and plays very little to no defense, which both those kids from Green never leave the field. He also has the luxury of running behind a massive offensive line that is anchored by a Division 1 tackle, and has a very experienced line to run behind at that.

The Dragons are starting one to two Freshman on the offensive line at any given moment, and Houchens and Seymour don't go untouched for 5-8 yards on many carriers like Smith. That isn't to take anything away from the young man, he is absolutely the best back I've ever seen at Taylor and will own every record they have for scoring and rushing when he leaves, and I for see him only getting better with time, and I still think he might be the best back in the area, but he has a bunch of things going for him that the two backs from Green don't.

If we are talking overall player in the area, give me Houchens any day of the week. The young man is going to lead his team in sacks, be close to leading them in tackles, and will rush for over a thousand yards and most likely have 400-500 yards receiving as well, all the while never leaving the field. The hardest part for me is Julian Seymour will also do many of the same things as Houchens, he just doesn't have the size as Houchens yet. If he grows another 3-4 inches and adds another 20-30 pounds, Seymour is a division 1 recruit.

Taylor’s defense is like butter tho.

Unfortunately same can be said for Green County at the moment. Haha

Green Casey and Taylor all good teams IMO.

I agree. I think Taylor is a little better than they have played, and will be a tough out if they figure out how to stop anyone on defense. Casey is a really solid team as well, and they have a kid who can sling it. They are fun to watch.

As predicted that smith would make this game competitive. @GC-Dragons very well said.  This was exciting game to watch. I'll be there for the glasgow game too. I predicted 42 to 41 with smith. I would say that was pretty close. Both defensively has potential but needs alot of work.

Absolutely, Houchens is a beast. This kid can do it all. Good strength and good speed. This kid is also a killer lead block. He can catch the ball. He may end up leading the team in Tackles if not he be top 3. Honestly I would like to see him dropped back as LB with Seymour and McKinney.  Seymour for his size and weight. Which from the last camp and there report that he has made it up to 165 at 5'11. So it looks as he has put on around 20 to 25 pounds on the off-season.  He is the fastest kid on the team. For a smaller back shows some pure strength. Seymour vision of the feild has always been far superior of anyone that's has paded up for Green. If he can bulk up 20 lbs he's a diffrent animal. He should be top two in tackles for the year.  I think the game changer on offense this year is gonna rely on McKinney and Ferguson. Huston Hodges 2nd year in his life ever playing football first year starter you couldn't tell by how he plays. I'm kinda disappointed on his late start this kid could have some stars on his recruit sheet already if he had played from LL up.  This season is gonna depend on if they can get there defense together and take some of the pressure off the offensive. Defense wins big games.
