Not as marquee as most of these games but I am looking forward to seeing Mayfield travel to Henderson County who had a pretty solid season in 6A last year.

Who did they play against?

Side note for whatever it’s worth. Mayfield did not have their best player playing tonight. RB JuJu Starks had an appendectomy last week and is out until the first game of the season

4 key players from the Mayfield Cardinals won the state title in the 4x100 meter event in track yesterday. All juniors. So I guess this indeed proves that they once again will have speed all over the field.

Sam Diehl solely based on the 2005 state championship game. Mayfield Coach Joe Morris recently said that was the best QB performance he’s ever seen in a state championship game, especially considering the circumstances (20 degrees and raining).

I still root for Male every year. It’s Kentucky’s public school.

36-0. Running clock with 9:41 to go in first half.

Without Biggers (by far Murray’s best player on both sides of the ball) Murray doesn’t stand a chance to keep it close. I think it was going to get ugly anyway but without him it should be a running clock at some point.

You’re really mad huh? Mayfield had several terrible calls against them in the first half. It really is funny though that you let a high school game get you so torn up and show your true colors.

As of now you can watch the Graves/Mayfield game from Aug 19th on their Facebook page. It’s also under “Red Helmet Video”

Running clock first half. 36-0.

Yes that was definitely the case. Like stated above, Mayfield killed themselves with penalties from the opening kickoff being run back for a touchdown and called back. But Graves County fought the entire game. I’m eager to see what they do against the remainder of their schedule.

Both defenses were good. Mayfield still somehow managed 36 points. I think Graves can have a decent year if they get any offense going

One kid can’t win a game. Eli Manning was 2-0 against Tom Brady in Super Bowls. I think you’d be hard pressed to find someone that would say Eli was a better QB than Tom.

Last year was the coach’s first year at Murray so yes he has beat Mayfield once and then also got drubbed 55-6 by Mayfield in the playoffs. I’m not saying he is a terrible coach by any means, I am only stating that he has two of the best playmakers in the state and barely uses them. Just trying to mention these kids so maybe someone such as yourself will go watch a game or two and see what I am talking about.

There is a kid from Murray that does not get near the credit or hype he deserves. His name is Xavier Biggers. His offensive stats are the product of being stuck in the Wing T offense but he still managed to be at the top of the state in yards per carry as a sophomore last year. He is as talented as any 2 way player that you will find in 2A. I seriously think he has D1 potential on the defensive side of the ball as a DB. If the kid went to Mayfield or Beechwood etc. he would be a full blown superstar. Murray honestly doesn’t know how to use the best talent they have. Another kid they have that is also blatantly underutilized is Zayvion Carman. Hopefully these 2 get the recognition and spotlight they deserve this year. This is all coming from a diehard Mayfield fan that checks out Murray games when Mayfield is on the road against lesser opponents.

Why?

Do you all hate Mayfield or just Snake? Or both?

64 yard touchdown pass after stopping GC on 4th down. 28-0 Mayfield

21-0 Mayfield. Another long rushing TD on 4th and 1

?

Murray will try to control the time of possession but there will still be a running clock at some point. I’ve watched Murray 3 times this year and they’re just not a good team.

It’s one fan though that keeps saying the stuff. Don’t include us with him haha

Beechwood fan? Or just Mayfield hater?

There is no way that LCA shouldn’t be ranked #1. I agree with the rest except maybe Caldwell should be ahead of Murray.
