Who are the big names to watch for in 2A in 2022? With some serious talent in the past few years do we see more 2A players making big things happen?

Some names in 2A people have been talking about (skill players only) are:

Russ Osborne- QB SV

Cole Crampton- RB WC

Zane Cartwright- QB MF

Drew Nieves- QB/WR LCA and the new QB at LCA

Mitch Berger- RB BW 

Austin Sperry- RB/WR BC

Also hearing about some players from Green County and Murray too- not sure of names! 

I am sure there are others in the skill position that will break out this year but these are ones I have been hearing of- season right around the corner so we will find out fast! 2A is LOADED!!!!

I happened to catch a Walton Verona practice and saw some lineman that where pretty impressive.  One in particular was Landon Schirman,  Jr starter... started last year. 6'1" 255lb monster! Kid is big strong and fast!

Another one to watch out for that was injured last year is JR QB Jackson Smith from WV as he is a dual threat and should have a breakout year- was a track star in 100 and 200M- he also has some weapons around him in Geoffrey Kratzenburg and Logan Ryan. Also look out for Javier Ison from HC and the RB from Lloyd (forget his name). Big year in 2A as a ton of talent all around the state!!!

There is that name again... Jackson Smith... im a fan! Heard the kid tore up the camps this year and has some big schools talking to him. If Landon Schirman is what we can expect from WV O line and they have other weapons on the field this year, WV should make some noise!

Another name to add to that list is Austin Waddell of Beechwood. Kid is a force at MLB. Has put on even more size this off season and expect him to anchor the defense yet again. Expect big things out of him this year!

Tyson Beach has transferred to Princeton in Ohio. 

Demariah Brown from Danville will have a big year for Danville, already holds an offer from EKU. Also Josh Bixler from Danville. Two names to keep an eye on. Hayden Dick from Somerset should have a great year also. I forget the big QB from Washington County, he's solid also. I don't know how true this is but I'm hearing Danville should have a pretty good team if they can find a QB. Defense should be solid.

Kid has potential if he can stay healthy. 4 injuries in 4 years. Wish the kid best of luck. I’ve seen the Schirman kid, he can play anywhere on the o-line. Kid is beast. He’s probably the best player on that roster.

Riffle left LCA to go back home to Hurricane, WV and Beach has left Walton to play for Princeton, OH

There is a kid from Murray that does not get near the credit or hype he deserves. His name is Xavier Biggers. His offensive stats are the product of being stuck in the Wing T offense but he still managed to be at the top of the state in yards per carry as a sophomore last year. He is as talented as any 2 way player that you will find in 2A. I seriously think he has D1 potential on the defensive side of the ball as a DB. If the kid went to Mayfield or Beechwood etc. he would be a full blown superstar. Murray honestly doesn’t know how to use the best talent they have. Another kid they have that is also blatantly underutilized is Zayvion Carman. Hopefully these 2 get the recognition and spotlight they deserve this year. This is all coming from a diehard Mayfield fan that checks out Murray games when Mayfield is on the road against lesser opponents.
