Three team race. Highlands, BG, and South. Scott could sneak up on any of those three but the inability to score with those teams when they're on is a problem. In truth, I think anyone would be hard pressed to declare one team an outright favorite at this point.

I would pick Hart over Central and Belfry. Those are good teams but they are not good Central or Belfry teams if that makes sense. CAL and Lex Cath are another animal.

1. Move the state championships back to WKU. Kroger field is awful. 2. Two teams per district make the playoffs but all teams not making the playoffs may schedule one more game with one another and split the gate. 3. Bring back the shimmel jersey with cowboy collars! 4. Add a week to the Dead Period… switch acclimation to 5 helmet, 5 Shells, then Full gear.

Against Highlands current schedule I’d say… Owensboro would be 7-2 South would be 8-1 or 9-0 LCA would be 8-1 or 9-0 Bryan Station would be 7-2 or 8-1 NOBODY, except Cov Cath, on Highlands’ schedule would have any chance of being 6-2 against BG’s schedule to date.

If everyone is saying the same thing, they might be on to something...

A long list of guys who toiled endlessly striping fescue fields on Thursday nights, washed 1,000's of jerseys alone on Sunday evenings, got the best out of undersized kids who were blessed with a lack of speed, and who gave all they had to their communities on Friday nights in the quiet corners of the small towns our wonderful state. That said... Jack Haskins. I'm not sure anybody did more with schools that everyone said it couldn't be done at. Man was amazing.

I think Douglas can beat Boyle... but I don't think they will beat Boyle (if Boyle is healthy). I do think some suspect love is headed Douglas's way right now based on a win over Trinity. As long as Quisenberry is healthy, there isn't a team that is going to stop him. He is on a totally different level than the rest of the elite talent in KY.

As long as they are healthy, I can't see anyone beating them.

Beat Cov Cath Win State You only gotta do two things at Highlands. How you do them isn't that important. Just get them done. If not, they won't tolerate you for long. So far, it doesn't appear to be changing anytime soon.

I think it's worth noting that the massive numbers BG's defense surrendered in the LCA game have come back to earth somewhat when LCA put up over 600 on a Boyle team who had the benefit of the film of watching BG go through it the week before.

East returns a ton of talent. Should be interesting to see what impact, if any, the coaching change has on the Raiders. Tough first game out the gate against a Daviess Co. program that has settled into being a solid big school program in WKY.

Curious to see who will be playing who on Friday (8/11). Bowling Green was scheduled to play Male but will now play at Christian Academy of Louisville at 6 pm Eastern. Others?

How have the T FR and JV teams fared against X as of late? Honestly asking since I don't keep up with such things.

HS kids have amazing stamina. Two way guys by week 4 are barely feeling it and become almost insulted when you take them out. By Week 10 when it turns cold, there is almost no wear down in them. Many of the best players I have seen never came off the field.

Wallace shows up and all of a sudden X is 3-3 v. T in the last five years. In the 5 years previous to Wallace, X was 1-8. But I'm sure it has nothing to do with him. T is the new Highlands. Glorious past... that is in the past. (waits patiently for heads to explode). ☺️

T is feeling the dual impact of Bob Beatty leaving and Kevin Wallace arriving. X is now the big green monster of that town.

In the last 10 years, what KY HS player would you legit pay more than $5 for an autograph from? The only ones I can think of are: Wan'Dale Robinson Maybe Reed Sheppard I'm sure I've missed one or two but what I'm really trying to point out is what I believe is true at the college level as well, which is that for the most part people just don't care that much about non-pro athletes (outside of the Bronny's and Arch Manning's of the world).

NIL has risen up to take on travel-ball as the silliest addition to athletics. Total waste of money for boosters. Total misuse of money by programs to invest in low-return investments (outside a VERY few exceptions). The only two places I see this having an impact in HS in KY are: Homes - Trade a NIL real estate promotion for a compensation of use of a home (in district); Cars - Trade a NIL car lot promotion for compensation of a leased car (have fun with that insurance). Other than that, nobody, and I am including X and T in this "nobody"... I mean NOBODY is shelling out any kind of real money for any kid for HS sports in KY.
