I think it may be wise to bring an outside person (coach) in to ask the X & O questions. Most administrators are clueless to the game itself, even the athletic directors. I think a parent or community member is very bad idea. Giving anyone a voice outside of the school is giving away too much power. I would imagine that same person will be the first one complaining when things go south.

I believe Meadows was at NCC. He will do a great job at Scott.

Scott seems to want to get this thing done quickly. Good for them. I wonder if any of those 4 coaches have applied for the other open NKY positions. Makes things interesting.

I don't mind a homer announcer. That's part of playing on the road, especially in the playoffs. I've heard many fans and coaches say, "I hate playing there.". Credit to that program. The sound of the crazy announcer, milk gallons filled with pennies or crazy student sections can be quite intimidating for a bunch of teenage kids. Gotta love Friday night lights.

Most teams put their 2's in during a running clock but choose to use the 1's in special team situations. Its probably easier to manage during a varsity game. I have no issues with this.

Not good. The same khsaa is slow to act on most things regarding football.

Coach Lickert has run this defense since he's been at Holmes, maybe Dayton. It is always a 3 man front It's what he believes in. NCC will be ok if they get through the first half of schedule.

Kudos to Tom Gamble and the NKFCA coaches for pulling this off. A lot of work takes place and the families of these kids to see one last football game for their sons. Win or lose, those kids busted their humps last week to give a good showing but unfortunately, the game was not competitive, kind of like last year's super bowl. A few years back, there was a thrilling overtime game. Everyone got their money's worth. Many all stay games have stopped over the years for all of the reasons mentioned in other threads. Graduation, spring sports and scholarship kids opting out make it challenging. The coaches who volunteered their times probably had practices with their teams that very same day. Kudos to Dixie heights for allowing the teams to play there. It's the best stadium for this event for many reasons. Hope this continues in the future.

A couple reasons. 1. Some teams don't have enough players to do spring football because of spring sports. 2. Some teams can't access their fields due to lacrosse and other activities. 3. Puts a lot of pressure on kids that play multiple sports. They feel compelled to participate or they may lose their playing time or seem uncommitted. 4. There is no acclamation to contact. Teams can go full contact day 1 of spring. Seems pretty silly considering the acclamation rules of summer.

Get rid of spring football. Four classes. No helmets until July 15th. Weights and conditioning only in June. Three week dead period. Allow 2-a-days because there is no spring football or June time to install.

Great and surprising hire IMO. Boys from Paris better think twice before they transfer to Bourbon lol. He has head coach experience at HS and college levels. He has college connections all over the country. Coach Damron's son was playing at UVA Wise when he was fired as their coach after seven years. His son transferred to Georgetown to play football. Family packed up and moved to Georgetown. Now he is the new coach at Paris.

I think he is an offensive guy. I hardly doubt any of his Mason Co. staff will come with him because of the drive. SK may be in need of a new makeover with staff. I don't mean to say their staff is inadequate. I just think change is a good thing. New faces, ideas and energy can give a program a boost. Who will the new coach get to run the defense?

Terry Brown is probably the best defensive coach in the area. This would be a good hire. If the decision has been made, this secret is going to be difficult to keep over the holidays. Just name the coach and introduce him to the players.

Haven't read thru the entire thread. Why wouldn't they call Noel Rash? Recently retired from Holmes, he could pick up around spring break (retirement guidelines) and be the defensive coach they need. Resume would be superior to anyone applying.

St. Ed's played a monster schedule and ended the season 5-5. They will be playing a good Findlay team this Friday.

Mike was coach for a while and Scott coached with him. Then Scott took over. Mike was an assistant coach for Dixie the last few years.

Scott Code would do an amazing job. He is in the building and has tons of experience.

Unless there is a special deal made, I'd say most head coaches in our area make about $5-$10,000. Most of this information is probably public on their websites if you search. Nowadays, you have the off-season, spring football, summer, the season and a society that knows everything. The majority of your NKY head coaches are probably teaching a full schedule as well. It's a difficult job with very little pay. Coach Trosper has been at Conner since 2007, I think. Not sure about Borchers.

Need 7 men on the line of scrimmage. That checks out. Here is the play on youtube. They shift prior to running the play. The guys who were originally on and off the line of scrimmage are the same before and after the shift. Good play call. Blown call.

If I was the principal, I'd be having a conversation with the coach immediately. I don't disagree with his message but this was not the time or place. The team and especially the seniors deserved better, especially on a night reserved for celebration of the season and career of the seniors. With that said, I would not mind if he brought this topic up in a summer meeting with parents as long as it was just a small part of the agenda.

Lloyd suffered losses to Brossart, Holy Cross and Newport in 2020/2021. This year's schedule was made back then. There was no reason to schedule up two years ago. They did drop Grant and picked up New Cath. Boone, Scott, Holmes and NCC should have been good games for them. Now that they have improved, they have decisions to make.
