No one needs to be subjected to the two of us going back and forth .... But now that you mentioned it .... After reading a boatload of your posts on this subject ... This is the first one where you actually pointed out "possible points of improvement" I agree with you that he has talent. And it is certainly your right to root for him. But being "somewhat familiar" with talented football players .... And many who play at the next level ....I have to say this. He is a sophomore. He has great potential. That's where things are right now. But if you are going to question my ability to understand your posts ... It may serve you well to go back and read yours from the past few months. No objectivity what-so-ever.

Ummm that isn't the truth. Holmes hung tough with Conner the entire scrimmage. Conner got the upper hand at the end---and Holmes led for a large portion of the scrimmage.

Most .... Definitely NO. Some .... YES. What this guy has described is what most of us refer to as turnover. He just comes at it from a different angle (a very unimportant one at that) so it sounds like something different than what it actually is. The one thin that he didn't really touch on enough with Bolt is stride length. His legs may move at the same speed .... But you could immediately argue that this fact combined with stride length is also why Bolt blows away his competition. (The average elite sprinter is This is just another guy trying to make a name for himself. (And I can't stress enough ... Bolt is so juiced you may as well call him orange)

Not sure this is anything new. I think that anyone involved in the sport who understands the physical force and movement in a short sprint knows most of this. The part that bothers me .... Is that this article does not speak to the fact that different runners have a different physical make up than Bolt. Which means that this joker hasn't determined the true key to speed. He may have found that for Bolt ... But not everyone. And it doesn't even mention the real reason for Bolts success .... PED's. 99 out of 100 pro runners are doped to the gills. Yeah .... If you are from Ryle or a Ryle fan. Trust me ... More than a few 100 people know what happened. And if I am a certain team .... I am probably not going to do too much to make the other team angry.

Conner seems to think they have an easy road in the playoffs .... But there are two things they must do to even have a chance to win a championship: 1. They must be able to run the football (and I am not talking about out of the shotgun) 2. They must be able to stop the run. By doing this ... They would have a much better chance of controlling the clock---which is essential in playoff football. Teams that win championships can usually do both.

Hopefully the kid was up enough on his Conner history to let Joker know that the Cougars returned the favor in 83 ...

Brady Slusher UC/EKU last season played at Beechwood-2008 3. Dominic Mainello UC last season played at Beechwood-2008 This coming fall: Michael Colosimo. As far as the others .... There are a lot more than you realize. I'll let someone else fill in those gaps.

Well ... they have 3 playing D1 right now ... with another to add in this fall. At the end of the day ... Beechwood has had more than their share of D1 players.

Some of these items are most defintiely NFHS rules. However ... what the KHSAA will not tell you .. is that they do NOT have to follow any/all of them. For instance .. the NFHS allows track/cross country runners to wear watches ... but the KHSAA has made the decision to continue to DQ a kid if he wears a watche (which is about the dumbest thing ever when it comes to something that could actually help to promote improvement in distance times). The KHSAA has taken this approach because they don't want pile ups at the finish line (they think that kids hitting the stop button on their watch will create some huge, 50 car pile up--the rest of my opinion will remain unspoken). The KHSAA probably has some people who will try to say that they have to follow NFHS rules to a "T" ... but .. there are plenty of examples that prove that they can do what they want. Quite simply put ... when I first started ... I worked with a coach who told me "track officials, for the most part, are on a power trip--and this is the only power that they have in their life--and they intend to show you who is boss at all times". Now, in most cases ... that isn't true (especially in NKY--where we have some great officials). Don't let them fool you ... the KHSAA could make any rules they want when it comes to the sports that they sponsor.

Ha, ha! Your point of view is admirable, paNDA. However ... at the next level ... they have NONE of these silly uniform rules. Kids can wear just about whatever they want under their uniform ... they can wear JEWELRY ... they can wear big, nasty HEMP necklaces ... This year ... they changed things around to where, if an official saw a uniform violation BEFORE the event started ... it was charged as a warning to the school. The next offense by that school results in a DQ. It seems like that rule went out the window during the regionals. paNDA ... I would have bet money that you were taking a couple snaps of our assistant coach/myself last Friday at Ryle ... I would probably pay for a couple of those pictures if they exist (because only I know how angry I was at that moment!). Very cool of you to take pictures. Quite a few of our kids have been included ... and I know they really appreciate it.

You are 100% wrong in every way. You can only move up due to geographical issues. In Beechwood's case, there was no geographical reason to move up. Since the original realignment to 6 classes--Highlands has only been allowed to move up due to their location. They haven't been allowed to "play up" because they felt like it or wanted better competition. I am not sure when Mel Webster became the authority on what Beechwood needs to do .. but I can assure you he has no idea what Beechwood has done, is doing, or will do in the future. I can also assure you that moving was looked into--in great detail. It was obvious from the beginning that the KHSAA was going to stay consistent in their direction. Your insinuations are pathetic and ridiculous ... and your posts speak exactly to why certain schools will never improve. Instead of using the situation to your advantage .... you point the finger at other schools that have done things the right way for years and years. If Beechwood was so worried about moving up ... why have they scheduled Highlands, Dixie, Simon Kenton, NCC, Covington Catholic, etc? IF you can justify that one ... let me know (I am not holding my breath).

The NKY 1A Regional is Friday at Walton ... 5:15 pm.

Yeah ... because there are just SO MANY tutition students at Beechwood to begin with. Not to mention ... it would take at least a 100 years to pay for this building even if out of district tuition was used to pay for this building.
