imsosilly Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 Haven't seen much on either team this year, but I'll go with Beechwood on tradition alone. I'll say Beechwood 35 - Holmes 13
Walter Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 Beechwood should be too much for the Dogs. TIgers will dominate up front on both sides of the ball.
This Guy Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 Holmes was being tossed around by Conner during their scrimmage at Beechwood. Beechwood tossed Conner around. I predict a running clock in the second half. Beechwood by a lot, and then some. Vocke is gonnna have himself a night.
bjaynes Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 Most of the hype around Beechwood this year has been around the offensive prowess including the kicker. After 2 scrimmages and a dominate win over SK what stood out to me was the defense. They are quick to the ball in numbers and their speed should be a tough matchup for Holmes. The offense can spead it around when they need to. Vocke had a quiet 100 yd. game against SK and often was keyed on. Davis, Nussbaum, Brilz and Erdman did a nice job of keeping drives going throughout the game.

Conner got the upper hand at the end---and Holmes led for a large portion of the scrimmage.

RocketLandFan Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 Point is moot, Bw wins handily as they continue on their quest to November 25 That Nov 25 game will be a dandy!! I'm predicting now in August that it will go down as one of the best games between Beechwood and Mayfield!!!

When the 5th or 6th fastest player on the team is easily running down the starting RB on a big school team, it shows the speed on this defense.

That would be tough, the first ever meeting was in 1995 for the state title and Bw knocked out our qb and had us on the ropes. Mayfield managed to regroup and come up with a new offensive plan that was simplified to help the reserve qb and Mayfield won a thriller. I have to be honest though, I feel like the best have been the last 2

Just Win Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 Dont under estimate holmes speed, but Beechwood will control the trenches since Holmes graduated alot. IMO Holmes is the faster team but when you struggle against Scott your in for a long night against the Tigers.
Toothpick Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 Besides Mayfield, will Bw face any other teams that will be faster this year?
Crunch-time Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 Point is moot, Bw wins handily as they continue on their quest to November 25 Sorry Big Guy...their quest is not Nov 25th!
