Raw foot speed, maybe in a head to head sprint, might give the edge to Holmes. Having great speed mixed in with anticipation and the proper angles is what makes BW hard to gain ground on and thus levels things out against most opponents.

BW handles Holmes easily. Nov 25th , we shall see.

I'd say Beechwood plays a harder schedule. They did last year too.

Not that the Mayfield posters need any backup, but Beechwood has played a more difficult schedule than them the past two years and they seemed to do OK versus the Tigers.

Conner got the upper hand at the end---and Holmes led for a large portion of the scrimmage.

Absolutely no comparison. It's pretty safe to say MF only has 1 game on their regular schedule where the outcome is questionable. BW passed their 1st test; however, still has 3 regular season games that are questionable.

That's putting alot of faith on the young Cardinals. I would have to agree that the Bw schedule is tougher but in fairness, we don't exactly have the same caliber teams waiting at the next exit on I75 either. We play all the local big schools with the exception being Lone Oak and that is was not a fault of either team. Murray is also back on our schedule and we would have gladly played them anytime anyplace but the Tigers felt they needed a break a few years back and have just now decided to add us back on the schedule. The schedule we play, in my opinion, could have benefited from adding a Christian County or BG but for whatever reason we dont have that but a Greenwood instead. In the past we have had long series with Hoptown, Christian, BG Owensboro, Henderson, ect....

I am not sure which scrimmage you watched, but I watched Cameron Fogle vs. Holmes, oh wait, I mean Conner vs. Holmes and that is the truth, Holmes got beat up, by a not so good Conner team.

quickslick's description of the scrimmage is accurate. It was a tight battle till the very end when Holmes wore out and Conner took control.
