Conner vs. Highlands 1993 The Birds lose in overtime in the 2nd round of the playoffs. This loss ended the Duffy era .... And paved the way for it's current state (funny how Conner has had a hand in a few major Bluebird milestones).

I agree .. that it definitely is not rocket science ... except to the outlying 25%. Come on out to practice tomorrow ... I will be more than happy to walk you through it.

Not to sound rude ... But my guess is that 75% percent of defenses today do not stress outside contain as a primary responsibility for defensive ends. The actual number is probably higher than 75%. The game has changed significantly over the past 10 to 15 years .... Which means that defenses have changed with the times as well.

Well ... that leaves 9 players left on the field .... I am sure you can figure it out.

It may serve you guys well to learn the actual responsibilities of the Beechwood defensive ends before you put the game on their shoulders.

When I walked out on the field ... It looked to be 5 to 6 inches in some spots. In person, the athletism stood out very clearly---lots of speed and a lot of hard hitting. I would also agree (after watching the replay) that TV did not do the game any justice. Count me as one person who thinks that the QB last night will be an improvement over the injured QB. Smith can actually make a left handed pitch ... Where Ramsby struggled at times.

I just hope Coach Brilz doesn't get any crazy ideas about retiring once Darrick Jr. Graduates!!!

Don't forget ... They are also allowing watches in races!!!! It is about time Kentucky got on board with the rest of America!!!!

Who said anything about losing their composure? Did you ever stop to consider that he was actually taking a leadership role ... by fighting for more respect for the higher being in question? Let me answer that for you ... no you don't know. Neither do I. Some times ... leadership is stepping up and SAYING SOMETHING WHEN NO ONE ELSE WILL. Lord forbid someone in this world actually stands up for what they believe in. Maybe good ole' Coach Bolden was being the exact type of role model that this world needs. And again ... pretty funny that a public school coach has more respect for the higher being in question than this private school that is based in faith. The "H" word is getting ready to come out ....

I agree completely. The newspaper article never mentioned anything about a cheer from Colerain that instigated the situation. And ... any jounalist who has an ounce of integrity would report the entire story. So ... I wonder ... did Colerain even do anything? I think it is funny that Tom Bolden has more respect for the higher being in question than the St. X student body does. Last .. "we have girls" ... means ... WE HAVE GIRLS. I understand where some of you immediately jump to conclusions as to the meaning. But .. if I went to an all boys school ... I don't think that I would immediately assume that the meaning of the cheer had homophobic overtones. I understand where some would ... but ... those are people who are looking to make a situation into what they want it to be. And again .. I am calling bull on anyone from St. X who says that this happened the way it did.

Hold on a minute ... I am calling bull on all of this. According to the story .. Bolden comes out of his team huddle at the end of the game ... and makes his comments. (AFTER the game being the key words in this sceario). Past history tells me that Colerain students leave immediately following the game (win or lose--and yes--I have been to more than a few Colerain games). I call bull on the people from X saying that the Colerain students instigated this with their "we have girls" cheer ... why? Because ... both teams made it through the lines ... shook hands ... then took a few minutes to get situated in their huddle. From there .... Bolden waits for the team, cheerleaders and coaches (who were coming down from the box). My understanding is that he was in to his post game talk .. then the cheer came. From here ... it is pretty hard for me to believe that the X faithful can claim that Colerain instigated this--because even if it did happen ... it was a WHILE before St. X made their move. (And yes .. I know a little more than I am sharing here).

They run the football. That's what they do. Now, personally, If I were the coach there ... I would strive for balance. If you look at Boldens tenure ... And compare it to Coombs last 4-5 ...you may be surprised. Keep in mind, it took Coombs 10-11 years to win the big one--and they both do it the same way. The numbers say that Colerain Is the same as they have been. They are young this year as well.

You "opinion" is wrong. Colerain is in the mix every year. They are in the mix right now. They will continue to be in the mix every year. That isn't opinion ... It is fact. As far as calling Bolden a clown ....that is your "opinion" It is an incorrect, uninformed and down right wrong ... But hey ... It is your opinion.

Mitchell played very well ... 5 TSS ... I would hate to speculate on total yards (over 300 on 8 to 10 carries) Suchanek threw the ball well (passing TD's to Everett and Shover) The line blocked very well. The defense wasn't that bad .... Holy Cross played hard and did some good things.

10 for 324. Erdman was over a 100. Thomas was over a 100. Vocke was pretty good on defense as well.

I will see if I can dig it up. I have seen it before ... Just need to find it. It was something that impressed me as far as common sense goes.

Ohio has a heat acclimation rule ... That is probably a better system than we have here.

Letting Brilz go was a much larger loss. When it comes to coaching the O-Line ... Very few are in his league.
