Double Ouch!!! I knew Holy Cross was in trouble after Beechwood laid an egg against Holmes.

Ouch! I didn't think they'd be in THIS much trouble.

I am told that Vocke had 307 yards on 10 carries.

He also had about 90 receiving.

Vocke's back-up (a 10th grader) had over 100 yards on 3 carries and is just as fast. This was a 14-12 BW lead at the half. They scored 55 second half points. Beechwood's QB is still very suspect though. Not very sharp and trying to force passes. They need to fix this before CCH next week.

Way to go Tigers! Keep up the good work

NKYSportsblog tweeted the rushing numbers for Vocke.

I left at the beginning of the 4th and I seriously thought both teams looked bad in the 1st half. HC threw the ball pretty well but could not run, Beechwood could not throw but ran the ball well. If beechwood did not try to throw so early in the game some of their mistakes could have been prevented, IMO. But you see who made the better half adjustment. Vocke is for real..PERIOD. I actually liked Beechwood in the I and Power I formation. Old school..

This years Beechwood/Mayfield day after Thanksgiving match up might just be the best one yet.

Is this the same QB that the Beechwood faithful were telling everyone that he was getting D1 looks? I remember several post this summer on this subject.

Can't disagree with you.

So can somebody give us a summary of what was a close halftime game into a rout in the 2nd Half.

DRKARK touched on it above. Beechwood stopped trying to pass the ball and decided to run it. It was almost unreal. I think they had 3 or 4 one play TD drives - hand the ball to Vocke on first down and watch him do his thing. I don't know the exact distance but I would guess he had TD runs of 75, 65 and 60 in the third quarter. I think Beechwood only ran 7 or 8 offensive plays in the third quarter and I believe they scored 5 TD's. They also had an interception return for a TD in the quarter. They scored 34 points in about 6 minutes at the start of the second half. It was one of the craziest 6 minutes I have seen considering playing a pretty good team that they were basically tied with at halftime.

I am not one to hype players, but Vocke is one of the most incredible runners I have ever seen. His balance and ability to cut then accelerate almost immediately back to full speed is a sight to behold. When he gets a highlight reel posted online, everyone needs to check it out and prepare to say "wow" over and over.
