Is this the same QB that the Beechwood faithful were telling everyone that he was getting D1 looks? I remember several post this summer on this subject.

He's made a few bad decisions, no doubt, but let's keep in mind this was his 3rd Varsity game. He's also 2 games removed from being the player of the game in the crosstown shootout. The receivers have let BW down quite a few times as well, but that doesn't show-up on the stats. IMO, you can look back at the Homes game and can see exactly when the two BW lineman went down because the Holmes D was in the back field untouched chasing the QB "every play". HC crowded the box early and did the exact same thing. When you're running for your life mistakes happen. BW countered in the 2nd half by making HC pay for putting so many in the box and we didn't do that last week. BW also decided to go after the QB in the 2nd half and he also was forced into some mistakes. Bottomline, protect the QB and good things happen. If the QB has no time at all, it's slightlly tougher to make good things happen...sortof elementary, agree?

BW will fix the O-line issues. Until then, the defense will need to keep playing hard.

That's 4...and I agree!

I've said the same thing. Many people have.

Kid is amazing. Last year against NewCath he had some great runs, but his scramble on the half back pass that tied the game in OT was unreal.

Saw it. Agreed.

Let's just be brutally honest, Beechwoods district opponents have "ZERO" chance of winning. If BW wanted to score 100 pts. in each of these games they could.

100 might(might) be a stretch but your point is 100% accurate.

DRKARK touched on it above. Beechwood stopped trying to pass the ball and decided to run it. It was almost unreal. I think they had 3 or 4 one play TD drives - hand the ball to Vocke on first down and watch him do his thing. I don't know the exact distance but I would guess he had TD runs of 75, 65 and 60 in the third quarter. I think Beechwood only ran 7 or 8 offensive plays in the third quarter and I believe they scored 5 TD's. They also had an interception return for a TD in the quarter. They scored 34 points in about 6 minutes at the start of the second half. It was one of the craziest 6 minutes I have seen considering playing a pretty good team that they were basically tied with at halftime.

I am not one to hype players, but Vocke is one of the most incredible runners I have ever seen. His balance and ability to cut then accelerate almost immediately back to full speed is a sight to behold. When he gets a highlight reel posted online, everyone needs to check it out and prepare to say "wow" over and over.

AGREE, AGREE, AGREE. Many a jock strap left on the field last night by the Holy Cross defence.

Not just HC.

If jockstraps grew once they hit the turf BW's field would look like a cornfield after 3 years.

My takeaway is Holy Cross should be concerned....very concerned.

Uhhh, and I really hate to admit this, don't think BW will have that much trouble with Dixie's defense that has shown up the past two games.

All I can say is wow! Vocke made a play on his own side line maybe in the late second half? Not sure, but he looked like Reggie Bush with the stop on a dime ability, just making kids look foolish. Very exciting guy to watch!
