  1. From the KHSAA site/roster: 2 Jake Guhy Off: QB, Def: DB Jr. 17 Chase Sevic Off: QB, Def: DB Jr. 54 Tyler Hall Off: OG, Def: DL Jr. 89 Colton Sisson Off: WR Jr. 53 Mason Harris Off: OL, Def: DL Fr.
  2. Quick question .... what happened to Mason Harris (think he was 53 from last year ... was a freshman?)
  3. Since pictures are popping up .... here is a football team picture for one of the last teams at Falmouth High School ....
  4. Beechwood = 2003 (I think Highlands was 2002 .. not completely sure)
  5. Now that is a good one .... I was just looking at a team football picture (of my father's) ... it has to be from one of the last few teams for Falmouth
  6. You forgot the most important part ..... (well .. probably didn't forget it ... because you already know). There is a lot of praise regarding the physical ability of #7 .... He is on a completely different level than everyone else mentally ... lots of great checks all night. It is one thing to watch film ... it is something different entirely to translate that into real time. Good luck to both teams moving forward.
  7. Noted! Me of all people should know the difference by now! Glad you like the Tiger Paw .... I wanted to go with the all red color scheme--and the white paw. (When I asked Coach Rash about that ... he threatened to reach through the internet ... and "pull me back to reality" ... !) Good luck/skill/learning/health to both teams!
  8. Yep ... nearly the same as people who come on BGP and pass fake stories around for fact .... (Don't worry Clyde ... I got a good laugh out of that one)
  9. Come on TP ... I have already told you guys that we have upped our game this year. No more driving ... we have shifted our final remaining resources to purchase a 747 ... which we will land in Paducah (we circled the War Memorial last year ... looking for a place to land ... destroyed the visitors bleachers, scoreboard, etc ... so we had to think creatively). Now ... if you want to pick up all 20 of our coaches from there ... we may take you up on that offer!
  10. Nice one, Clyde ..... I hope when they lie to the kids this year ... they can at least figure out what kind of car I drive.
  11. Can't argue with that sentence! Definitely a little touchy about that one still! Good luck to the Breds this season.
  12. Trust me, hoss ... you don't want me to post the pictures that clearly show the ball over the plane. Not to mention ... anything less than a blow out that year should have been considered a loss ... what .. didn't you out man Beechwood by 80 to 90 pounds a man? You were beaten up and down the field until the 4th quarter ... (not to mention the joke of a field goal that was handed to you). The truth of the matter is ... it should have been worse. Get over it.
  13. What am I missing? Oh ... that's right ... I can't read or make sense out of the fact that I was in the "Softball" forum. Seriously? I think what you are forgetting here ... is that high school softball and baseball are finished in early June as does track and tennis. The KHSAA controls the part that they are responsible for ... which is high school athletics. And ... at the end of the season ... the kids need a break. The KHSAA has to deal with the aspects of athletics that they can influence .. which is the end of the high school season (and really .. they have no legal grounds to even acknowledge the fact that kids are involved in summer teams. I love the fact that the KHSAA steps up to the plate and mandates a dead period. What I know is this ... nearly every sport is year round anymore. Teams may not be playing games .. but lifting, working out, etc. It never stops anymore. My ears are open ... please explain to me how you would change the system. Kids need time to decompress from the year round grind. How could a dead period at other times work ... especially if school is in session (and don't say that doesn't matter .... the fact of the matter is that kid sees coach at school ... it is very easy for a coach to communicate with the student athlete). I think it is time for the organizations that run summer basketball/softball/baseball to step up to the plate ... and have a dead period of their own. Lord forbid that those money making machines have to stop and do what is best for the kids ...
  14. Not to be rude or anything ... but it sounds like the dead period was created with people like you in mind. To answer your questions: *As previously stated--the dead period for all high school sports is in the summer. It has nothing to do with when the actual sport is in season. *If a high school coach wants to coach anything in the summer .... well ... as a rule of thumb ... they can coach anything other than high school sports (that is kind of broad) ... you can not coach the athletes that you are responsible for (or any other high school athletes). You can coach younger/older athletes who are NOT involved in high school teams/sports/etc. *No ... the dead period can not and will not be moved. It is and will continue to be on the exact same dates so it is consistent--which gives the kids a set period to be away from school. It also allows parents to schedule vacations, downtime that they usually need by this time of the year. *Whose butt do you need to chew? Honestly ... do you really want that kind of statement out in public? You will never get it moved ... but if you want to give it a shot ... give Julian Tackett a call at the KHSAA. After that ... be ready ... because the dead period was agreed on by the KMA, the KEA as well as the state legislature. In a nutshell--good luck. I used to hate the dead period. But it has truly gotten to the point where those are the only two weeks a year where I am not coaching a sport. It certainly would not bother me if we had the dead period back ... but the kids no longer have a life. When you throw in 90 game summer baseball schedules, AAU basketball ... yeah well ... the kids are put in a spot. I coach two fall sports (yeah ... I don't have a life) and a "spring" sport. Well ... if we want to be good in that spring sport ... we start real practice in December ... that sport ends at the beginning of June. Yes ... 7 months for track and field. I am not even going to start on the time we spend on football. As an adult (not a teacher) ... I get 8 weeks of vacation each year. Teachers get the summer and personal days. Kids shouldn't get the dead period? I guess I would like to understand your logic. "Sometimes" ... the best thing for the kids ... is to give them time off. I think we all know they are involved in other sports mostly ... but one less obligation is a load off the mind of some kids.
  15. G-U-Y ... For instance: The "guy" named Guhy has a pretty good arm. (I could probably tell you what he eats for breakfast/lunch/dinner if you are interested!)
  16. And just so everyone realizes that I am not down on Barker ... here is my best example: A few years ago there was a huge prospect in the area ... All world, Elite 11, etc ... can't miss. Was he good ... yes. Were there a lot of people who automatically assumed he was the best QB in NKY ... YES! Was he good enough to play at the highest level--I personally thought so if some issues were addressed. At the same time ... there was another QB in the area who was not a bigger prospect (and he probably should have been) ... but was definitely a better QB. (Which so far has turned out to be true). (And let me be clear--I am speaking about QB play .. not character ... there has never been a day where I would compare Drew Barker to this "other" QB in regard to character).
  17. I am obviously the level headed one ... I certainly didn't proclaim Moore to be the best QB in the history of the world. "I would not be surprised .... " pretty sure that is a pretty level headed statement (and it is possible). Not to mention ... I never stated at all that I think that Barker is the best QB up here. (I did answer Packman's question and compared where they both are right now based on what I have seen so far in 7 on 7). Barker is great player ... and has earned everything he has gotten. That does not mean that I think he is or isn't the best QB up here. I only brought up his name when another member asked if I thought Moore was better. Is Barker the best BCS recruit in NKY right now .. uh ... no duh--but for me .. being the best and being the biggest recruit are different in my mind ... but heck .. what do I know about football .. ha, ha, ha). I am 100% sure that you have no freaking clue as to who I think the best QB is in NKY (not to mention ... I seriously doubt I am ready to pick anyone before 7 on 7's are over .. let alone the regular season). With that said ... I stand by my statement ... It would not surprise me at all if Moore ends up being the Bell Cow of NKY QB's this season. AND .. guess what ... it wouldn't surprise me if Barker was ... or Houliston from Highlands, or whoever Cov Cath throws out ... or Fieger. So .. sorry if I hurt your little feelings .... If that is too much pressure for a High School junior .. I apologize ......
  18. You must be a genius ... or something else. I say "By the end of this season ... I would be surprised if he is not the bell cow of NKY QB's." You add in the Spurrier, Elite 11 and 12 kinds of other garbage and try to pass it off on someone else .... weak. I am 100% sure I am the king of keeping expectations low for NKY QB's (look up a few of my posts on Barker). How you got that from what I wrote .... we will never know.
  19. My statement is pretty direct ... As of right now .... both run well ... to me Moore ... has been more accurate and shows more promise with his arm . I freely admit that my thoughts are based on 7 on 7 .... which does not mean a whole lot. Both can play ... both will do well .... as i said ... i would not be surprised.
  20. This is your quote ... ... right? The word "yet" does not excuse the fact that you are not convinced ... Nice try on your backpeddling .... but I don't buy it.
  21. Tiny? Ha, ha ... that's one thought that would not have crossed my mind. Clyde ... you are not convinced that Moore is D1? (surprise, surprise .... ) By the end of this season ... I would be surprised if he is not the bell cow of NKY QB's.
  22. Are you crazy? We are Beechwood .... we have our own plane .... Everyone says we need to focus our efforts on the Cards ... well heck ... I agree. (And glad I worked all that overtime since last football season). The funny thing is ... I was getting ready to say "save us a spot" .. then I realized .. you guys probably don't have a runway large enough for the 747-400. Who in the world is Rash Jr? Never heard of him (not to mention .. the height may give it away ... since "Rash Jr" is 6'5 .... And last .. next time .. send me a message when all of the stars are not playing ... flying to the 'Ville then having to rent a car cost me a ton last weekend.
  23. I understand where you are coming from, Snake .... and I also understand that this site works off of "I have a source who told me this .... " At the end of the day ... the potential damage to student athletes and schools based on these types of rumors can be more than a little harmful. (Not to mention ... it sounds like a whole lotta sour grapes coming from you). I know that Mayfield and Graves County take hate to a different level and all ... but do you really want to float this type of rumor around about the kid and his family? What are you truly going to accomplish by passing third hand information in regard to the eligibility of this kid? Not to mention ... even if you have a good source (which obviously isn't all that good) ... it takes about 3 minutes to look up the KHSAA rules in regard to transfers ... and see that this student athlete will most likely be cleared to play.
  24. Which is completely against KHSAA rules ... ... He can not practice unless he is declared eligible.
  25. The more I look into this mess ... the more I am amazed by all of the double standards. So ... according to TM's girlfriend/friend ... TM says this: "He kept complaining that a man was watching him," she said he described his pursuer as a "creepy cracker" (Source: New York Daily News 07/15/2013) 1. Who is the racist again? Why is this a race issue? Sounds to me that TM was just as much of a racist as GM is .... 2. The same case can be made in terms of "profiling" ... the above quote makes it pretty obvious that there is some profiling or assumptions made on the part of TM as well. On the island of quickslick ... profiling comes down to assumptions based on some factor ... without having knowledge or proof of involvement ... so .. bullseye for me). 3. If you are truly worried/scared/unsure why this "crazy cracker" is following you ... why are you talking to a female on the phone? I understand where TM wouldn't want to call the cops ... fair enough there ... but why not call his Dad or someone who may be able to physically assist him. 4. Racism is a horrible thing .. and it is against the fundamental, core values that I was raised with. However ... when will African Americans stand up to their own ... and decide that the use of the "N" word is not acceptable in any manner? You will struggle to change things when you continue to accept .. and in many cases encourage the use of that word. You lose credibility immediately when you allow people of your race to use that word in a casual, everyday manner .. then you are ready to throw the book at any other race who uses the same word. You can't have it both ways. When you make it unacceptable to your race ... then you have a credible argument. I am not a GZ supporter at all. I am someone who tries to use the facts (where available) to make up my mind about things. I feel like the reason for the not guilty verdict rests in my above points ... and would be interested in hearing the opinions/thoughts from you guys on the above points.
