If a rivalry is defined as competitive games between very good teams, this may be the best rivalry in the state. This game almost never disappoints. Great football. Great programs. Close games.

There are definitely a lot of similarities in these two teams seasons. Very though schedules, both fumbled away last second game winning TD drives versus Simon Kenton, both uncharacteristically lost to Holmes, both have suffered some injuries that hurt, both lost a lot of talent and have needed to work their way into a rhythm, both just ripped through their district play without even breaking a sweat, both seem to be on track now for their playoff run.

Here are common opponents:

NCC 37 Dixie 22

BW 33 Dixie 28

Simon Kenton 28 NCC 20

Simon Kenton 21 BW 15

Holmes 12 NCC 7

Holmes 33 BW 21

NCC 49 Holy Cross 10

BW 54 Holy Cross 21

You look at all that and you have to say this should be another great, competitive game. For me, this is the toughest game to predict that I can ever recall in this series. There are so many intangibles and both teams have experienced so many ups and downs that I just don't know what to expect other than a great game. I will have to think about this one some more before I make any kind of a prediction.

Both teams had uncommon starts but both are starting to hit stride. I know who I think is going to win!

This may sound stupid, but it really doesn't matter in the big picture. It is a great way to end the regular season for both teams. They both need a good challange before going into the playoffs.

Since they have been in different classes this game has pojected both programs into great runs in the playoffs. Hopefully it will do it again.

Some how I think it DOES matter to the players, however.

Yeah it does sound stupid because if you played competitive sports and been on teams that have an oppurtunity to do something in the post season you know that momentum is big part of sports. That's why a game like this one in week 10 is so beneficial for both teams. The winner gets the momentum and confidence and both teams gets to play a highly competitive game before they both beat the snot out of the next opponent.
