Conner's Drew Barker Named Top Frosh at Combine

Featured Replies

Conner frosh qb Drew Barker went to the National Underclassmen Combine in Indy this weekend and was named the top overall freshman.

I don't know his exact measures but I'd guess he's 6'2 or 6'3 and about 190 . Good size boy who has not been held back. Plenty of room to grow. That plus his work with Coach Delph will make him tough to handle.

Hats off to my boy DBarker and I can't wait to see his next 3 years .

WOW!!! Another "big" QB in the making. Will have to follow this young man throughout his career. Question, does Jeff Kremer help with QB's at Conner? Oh and good job on getting the "being held back" thingy out in the open before people start asking. Glad to see some parents have their priorities in place.

This may be a dumb question, but did Drew Barker quarterback the Conner freshman team or was he playing jv/varsity? The reason I ask is that I saw Conner play Highlands and I was just curious.

Jeff Kremer no longer is able to help at the high school because of his new job. He was able to help with a pee wee team last year. When he was coaching at Conner he was with the lbs.

Barker did not play frosh last year, jv and varsity only.

Whenever a kid is bigger than usual it comes up.

I was told he was a little over 6'2 in his socks and weighed in at 185. He also played AAU with Pouncy on Saturday in Dayton.

Nice recognition. We will have to keep watch and follow this young mans development. I'm sure coach Delph will get everything he can out of him.

He is a stud on the Hardwood as well. I was very impressed with him playing JV for Conner last year.

I ran into him over the weekend. The kid is a beast! He has really bulked up. Bright future for this young man!

For a qb and for a kid who was not held back he's a big kid and will get stronger.

The award he won earned him an invite to the top 100 (or something like that) camp where they bring in top kids from other combines.

Is he more of a pocket passer or athletic like the QBs Conner has produced in the past?

Clyde, it's called the Ultimate 100 camp for the Midwest Region. States that are in this region are Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky. If a player performs well there, then they get an invite to the Top Prospect Camp at the UGA, which is the top 15 players by grade, by position in the country.

When Conner played SK last year he played in the fourth quarter and he seemed to be athletic I am pretty sure he rushed for a touchdown.

Drew is turning a lot of heads with his size and passing ability. Conner has a couple of more kids that attended the NUC and received invites to the U100 camp also. A couple of sophmores are doing pretty well in this summer combine season.

Jared Kunkle won top D lineman at the Cinn/Louisville NUC and Cameron Fogle WR/CB also received invites to the U100. The U100 will be the weekend of 7/8 and 7/9 in Indianapolis.

Conner should have a bright future with the underclass talent and now playing in 5A. Should be fun to watch. Good luck to all 3 of these young Cougars!

I think the Barker/Fogle combo is going to be exciting the next two seasons.

Glad to see Kunkel moved to a lineman position.
