  1. Kyle should be up there. When this year is over the 3 skill kids at BW will all be very near most of the passing/receiving/rushing/TD records at BW.
  2. Beechwood will not lose in district play. I could certainly make a case that their wins over Ironton and Lloyd are more impressive than anything on Paintsvilles schedule. Lloyd is a good football team, lost to NKy 6a Top 10 team 6-0 and BW. Look at Irontons losses, and what they've done since. Their first 4 games were murderers row, and they played a couple without their best RB. Add NCC to that mix should BW beat them and they are the #1 team in the state.
  3. Not been to many of the stadiums outside the NKy area, so my sample set is limited. Ludlow is hands down my favorite. Have to walk right past all the neighbors on their porch getting "game ready". Usually they will offer you an adult pop. When a barge goes by on river it seems like the visting team could hop aboard. A close second is Dayton. It's old. The mud stinks. But it's all part of it. Probably as a fan you feel the closest to the action.
  4. You are certainly entitled to your opinion. Just come back and own them Saturday. You made the same claims prior to BW game? Going as far as saying HCs skill players were better. In reality it couldn't have been more wrong. Then you disappeared for a few days, now here you are again. IMO NCC wins this going away. I will be concerned prior to BW game vs NCC. The thought of even a close game never entered my mind vs HC.
  5. Really over the top, but you are entitled.
  6. Yes. IMO Scott/BW/NCC are very similar. Scott hung 59 on HC. BW could have scored 70 easily if backups didn't play most of second half. You point of physicality is true, but I watched the BW game and the same offensive and defensive line that was manhandled the week before by Cov Cath did the same to HC. Wanting to be physical is one thing. Having the horses and desire to do it is another. 21 is a beast, but he can't do it alone. I don't think Scott or NCC have a passing threat QB in the mold of Fieger at BW, maybe that makes a difference if you can sell out to stop the run. NCC will be far more physical at the point of attack, I've watched both teams.
  7. Beechwood did anything they wanted to do on O. Ran it, threw it. Scott did anything they wanted on O. New Cath will do anything they want on O. HC will score some, but not nearly enough.
  8. Would be very interesting to see the win % of the home team in the semis over "X" years. Hurts my argument, but I would imagine it's not as slanted to the home team as we would guess.
  9. You do a great job on this site, and I appreciate what you do. You are someone that actually can hold a conversation in which two people can disagree yet be cordial. Unfortunately thats the exception on here rather than the norm. My post simply was that all this does is welcome posts like the one above that Toothpick posted, completely unnecessary critical comments about kids. Look, this is not Bellevues year. Year in and year out they are outmanned but will always battle you to the final whistle. This year is a little different, they still battle but are very short handed. Comparitive scores-which I know can be misleading-tell the story on how this game is probably going to go. Just my opinion.
  10. And I would add it wouldn't have to be a college that hosts. Larger HS fields like a St X or Trinity in Louisville could more than accommodate a 1A or 2A semi. A school like Simon Kenton could do it. Plenty of big fields with turf. IMO all semi games should be played on turf.
  11. Whatever. Almost every state does it. Oh, and Ohio seems to play decent football. Inferiority complex much? It's an opinion. You got one, or just want to bitter?
  12. Honestly these types of polls should stop. Start one when SK plays Ryle, or Cov Cath plays HHS. That is relevant. Nothing constructive can come from this.
  13. Absolutely. It's done in Ohio, and works great. While you're at it, it would be great to see Kentucky adopt the Friday Saturday playoff games. Play even divisions o Friday, odd on Saturday. Gets more people at games, I would love to go on a Saturday night after My team has played on Friday. As it is I get no opportunity to watch other teams.
  14. NCC big. Holy Cross has a nice WR in 2, and good back in 21 that they never give the ball too, and a good QB that makes plays. Three players aren't gonna win vs a quality team. NCC is as good as BW, and BW blew them out. HC needs to watch Ironton film. This spread they are trying to run is futile at best, they don't have the horses. That big kids they are trying to make a TB would be a good FB, but I don't see them changing. New Cath wins this going away.
  15. Agree on a great feel good story, but what does the drop to 1a have to do with their record?
  16. Good grief. With simply miserable weather glad I stayed home tonight. The great news is BW gets Bellevue next week, who lost to this same Newport team. Yikes
  17. I would love to hear from one of the 3 people that have voted for Newport. What am I missing? As for scheduling this game I have no issues with it. They've played as tough a schedule as any 1a school, and in all fairness Newport was pretty good last year. District is what it is, but that's why NCC is on schedule last game
  18. He's getting close to 6'3, prob 6'2.5 and weighs around 185. Lots of room for weight, kind of slight lower body. I'm a baseball guy, he ran a 6.6 60 yard at a showcase. Tough to extrapolate on that, but if you just do the math it's a 4.4, guess it would be a little higher than that. He's really fast though. Could project in football as Safety or OLB if he gets to 220 ish
  19. Per his Twitter--that's kinda creepy-- he's still a Louisville commit and I've heard nothing different. I was only listing #1 starters. He's not that @ BW
  20. That's awesome. Great to see Coldwater and MS Marion Local up there. Same conference, in what I still believe is best small school league in Midwest. Many years that league has had multiple state champs in D4-6. I went to a rival HS in same league, won a ring when I was there, if I remember correctly we had 3 state champs that year.
  21. The million dollar question.....official visit or just I wanna see a football game in Leyland visit? Brett is my favorite football player to watch in NKy. Tennessee is hitting the big time.
  22. 9th is loaded with #1 starters. Raisor will pitch D1, IMO the cream of the crop Ziggy MSU JP. MSU Combs UK-as a hitter, but good on hill too Friend is a really nice pitcher, not sure of his status? Memorial Day will be really fun!!
  23. Great write up. Can you expand that to predicted winners and who advances to play who? Is it in order? I'm trying to figure out who Rd 2,3 and 4 opponents will be assuming favorites advance
  24. With early signing periid in little over a month we may see some of these kids make a choice. Schools that have offered will start to ramp up the pressure to sign. My advice would be to wait, I don't believe in the early signing period anyhow, unless you have already committed. Lots of these kids are late bloomers and there still may be more out there.
