This game looks lopsided with Newport having a restructuring season. What can Beechwood work on in this game to get better? Does Newport have any chance to put a scare into Beechwood? Who are Newport's top players this season?

Unfortunately, this game will get out of hand quickly. Beechwood is good, Newport is not and it doesn't help that they hired a coach like 3 weeks before the season started.

This will be a week Beechwood can work in some of the backups , and rest the studs after 1st quarter . Running clock .

I will see you in 5 weeks when they play New Cath. Until then, pure boredom, running clocks, and lots of JV players working on that varsity letter

Hopefully this stretch of games provides some time to work on some execution issues on offense and scheme on defense. Some fine tuning and expirimentation. Bottom line is being injury free and getting those who are dinged...healthy.

I like adding Lloyd to the schedule but why add Newport? I would rather play Scott. The Franklin County games were good games the past two years, but with two other long road trip games I can see how that one went away. Holmes would be better than Newport. If you needed another nearby 2A school, why not Walton Verona? I don't know what Beechwood gains with this game. It would be better to test the team this week since the district games don't look very challenging.

Good game to let other players without much playing time in to see how they are for Beechwood. If the first string plays the whole first quarter, it should be over

As for scheduling this game I have no issues with it. They've played as tough a schedule as any 1a school, and in all fairness Newport was pretty good last year. District is what it is, but that's why NCC is on schedule last game

Next 4 games are going to over by the 1st quarter. Good for jv kids .

Sorry Newport! This will be a long night but please keep faith in your new coach and work on.

I don't understand, if Beechwood is unhappy with their 1A district or look at them as "pushover" games, why didn't they press to move to 2A. I get they enjoy their dynasty, but shouldn't you strive to be champions at the best level you can?

I agree with Scott or another local option. I don't like them playing Holmes, because whether beechwood is winning or losing, those guys tend to head hunt and look for big hits instead of charging after team oriented goals, and they have the size of players to really hurt bw kids when they do that. I am glad bw stopped playing them, but I would like to see bw maintain at least a little big school competition.

2A district not much better outside of NCC

Lloyd , Newport ,Holy Cross. At least the starter would play half game.
