  1. Wow. Surprised to see more than one Beechwood kid in there. By the sound of their faithful on here it's a one man team. Looks like the QB and RB might have something to do with there success as well. Oh, and the OL might be playing OK too.
  2. Makes you as qualified as most of the rest that are chiming in. Doubt many of them have seen any or even half the kids they put on the list
  3. Good point. Was early. Ok so SK would be 2-2, Ryle 1-2-1 I give them a tie vs themselves
  4. Cov Cath has played a schedule that many teams in NKy, probably any team not named SK or Ryle, would be 0-4 against. Even those two teams IMO are 2-2, neither of them beats St X and Sycamore would be a pick em. I'm not ready to throw dirt on them yet, still a lot of kids and a lot of talent in Park Hills.
  5. Grant Lang has been playing center with Rowe up. No idea if that changes when Rowe comes back. Grant has done a fine job.
  6. Scott. Running clock. Sorry, but I saw Taft play Wyoming. They are not even a mediocre team. Based on that alone I just think this one over early.
  7. Curious as to where that opinion comes from? I was in the show me camp at the beginning of the year, but they've proven themselves. They have a RB that's ran for over 120 yds in all 3 games, a WR that has caught a billion balls, and a QB that's completing about 75% of his throws. Granted those kids are three of the best football players in the area if not the state, but it all starts up front. They've been a pleasant surprise, and have been out sized in every game.
  8. What a difference a couple years make. In 2013 this board was questioning if this gave should even be continued, BW simply could no longer hang. Things can change quickly. I think BW wins in a close one, 35-24.
  9. Made the trek. That was a long miserable drive home in the rain, but glad I went. What an awesome stadium and atmosphere. I'm still a sucker for a good HS band, and Ironton gets big kudos. Even has a special covers section in the endzone just for them. As for the game I'm not sure if you played it 10 times either team would have had an advantage. Guess Ironton was missing a stud RB, that could have made a difference as they seemed to be a little predictable on O. BW certainly had the speed advantage, and IMO Ironton did a good job using their significant size advantage early. Looked like as the game wore on BW was the better conditioned team, Stringer was able to pop the big one on the edge for the 2 TD advantage that wasn't there all game. I was impressed with each team, Ironton might be the best 0-3 team in the state. I would give the game ball to Kyle Fieger, he looked like a senior QB should look. Poised and in control, even though he was under significant pressure all night. On D Overstreet played like a D1 prospect. He had the size to match up, and had 3 huge sacks on the 4th quarter. Great game, great atmosphere. BW was significantly out sized along the lines, kudos to the entire line for battling. They just kept plugging. Not sure Tigers will see anything like that in 1a, at least from a sheer size standpoint.
  10. I would say a lot of them do. IMO Brett Slusher is the best defensive player in NKy, at any class. He gets a lot of pub as a WR because of his knack for the big play, but he is an absolute tackling machine from his LB position and runs like a deer, clocked a 6.6 60 in baseball. That's at least one.
  11. Why do some teams not report? I can say for a fact a few BW kids would be at or near the top of rushing, scoring, and perhaps receiving. I'm not a fan of individual stats in HS, think coaches do it more to draw attention to ther programs, but does seem if one does it all should have to?
  12. My only change would be Mayfield in 2a. Still not sold on BW as a title team, but not sold on anyone else in 1a either
  13. I can. Last week they played a very good 6a team, best in state not in Louisville or Scott Coubty. Last night they played a mediocre 6a team that was over hyped after a W vs what is proving to be the worst highlands team in years.
  14. SK names the score in this one.
  15. This score surprises me. Anyone there? Was it ever close or just completely one sided? I thought BW would win, but expected a tight one.
  16. Sounds like nearly every public school? At BW the soccer parents every summer sod the sliding area around the bases and the baseball field becomes their soccer field. Then when that's done the baseball parents undo it. Football field used by football teams from the Spartans youth program to the varsity football. During softball season they put up a makeshift fence and they play on the football field, which in the fall is used from as soon as school is out until the last middle school team is done at around 9pm. Other schools near by are even worse. 6 am practices or going off campus. Not a Lafayette issue or excuse
  17. Not going to be a popular comment for the haters, but I believe every NKY kid that went to Midland this summer without a D1 offer now has one? Slusher, Zieg, Raisor and Purnell. Perhaps it was only a matter of time, or perhaps coaches really do like seeing kids play top notch comp in the south?
  18. Per Twitter, D1 offer yesterday. Rumor is its Miami, but I've seen nothing to confirm.
  19. Thought this would be a tough matchup for Tigers. I predicted 42-28, not far off. Next week a really good test vs the 'Jumpers. I'm spending the weekend at Cumberland, just might pull myself off the lake to watch.
  20. I was at this one, made the trip. SK defense is suspect at best, they'd best keep scoring 50 although once they start playing the good teams in their schedule I will be concerned. Powell is really good, and once again the have an O line that is amazing. I'm 40 ish plus or minus and I've lost 10 steps, but I could get it done with those holes.
  21. I am in the camp that it will be close, but I am putting a lot of weight in numbers at Lloyd and the success their MS teams have had the last 3-4 years. That isn't always a great indicator. I know nothing about Lloyd, but I will go with Tiger 42-28
  22. Would love to hear the reasoning behind HHS being ahead of Cooper. Guess we won't, there can't be any. Hard to disagree at this point with the rest of the rankings, but that ones a head scratcher
