Not much change in the Bluegrasspreps Class 1A Rankings this week. Will Pikeville be able to do the unthinkable, again, and beat Belfry? Will Raceland be able to overachieve and beat a very strong and talented Valley, Ohio, team? What would a Hazard win over Phrestonsburg tell us? Who needs to move into the Top 10? Who will move down after this week?

Campbellsville plays Green Co. this Friday... Green is a GOOD football team and C-Ville has not beat the Dragons since 2005.

In years past, I would say no. But with Cov Cath struggling this year, what does everyone think?

I'm not sure, but my gut tells me the answer should be no.

I can see the argument if Fairview loses to a common opponent Hazard beats... but when Fairview waxed Hazard just two weeks prior it is hard not to rank them behind them.

Yes Fairview beat Hazard when they were undermanned and not use to playing without them. Hazard has also lost even more too injuries and more starters and still won. They held Jaylen Williams to less yards than Pikeville did..

So if Hazard does beat Pikeville I guess they jump up to there spot.

Should Russellville be considered in bumping Pikeville for that #3 spot? I understand Pikeville lost to a very good Paintsville team in OT, but the Panthers are looking mighty tough at this point and seem to be a serious contender to challenge Beechwood in the West. Especially with the addition of Johnny Drumgole.

There is more than just wins and losses to where a team is ranked. If it is just about wins and losses, why isn't 4-0 Brossart in the top 10?

They have won two back to back games against solid competition. Yes I agree these teams are down from normal but this team has lost 3 players to season ending injuries and nearly 4 but he had surgery to his meniscus and will be back in a few weeks. He is one of Hazards key linebackers. They have one back to back games without him and they are starting freshmen and winning. They have faced adversity and over come it. But they should get a few players back before the Pikeville game.

 

Russellville may jump Pikeville this week because I don't expect them to beat Belfry this year. I do think Russellville will be more Dangerous now the Drumgole is back.

Many of the other rankings around the state rank based primarily on records, I would venture to say that someone has Brossart ranked because they are 4-0.

 

No offense to anyone, but by not going on records and ranking teams based on first-hand knowledge, game film, and seeking out information is what sets the Bluegrasspreps Rankings apart from the other rankings that you see and think are crazy.

Assuming the game is close I would say no but I hear what you are saying about CCH, certainly not your big brother's Colonels and definitely not your daddy's Colonels.
