Conner 21 Beechwood 14 (scrimmage)
Tale of two halves. BW dominated first 30 minutes, scored on first possession without much resistance on several stringer runs and a nice scramble by Fieger. Conners TD to make in 14-7 after first 30 came about 10 minutes after clock expired, but it's. A scrimmage so they let them play. BW had two starting lineman sit the entire second half, not sure why, so had a make shift line including moving starting center to guard. That's when the snap issues started. BW hit one big play on a screen to stringer for about 60, and the place went silent when he didnt get up. Looked like a back issue, fell hard going full speed. If that's anything serious that's something Tigers can't afford. Both teams looked very mediocre, but that's what a scrimmage is for. IMO Conner will struggle vs the big platooning teams in 6a. They aren't there yet, but JV looked line they had some great talent.

Greatest High School Football player you have ever seen play (In Person)
Randy Moss. And it's not even close. Had heard so much about him made the couple hour drive to watch them play. Was completely unfair. Andy Katzenmoyer was a distant second. Another man vs boys scene

Beechwood's Brett Slusher Offer?
Talent wise yes. Not sure playing two sports is optimal when coupled with an Ivy academic load. My little brother went to Harvard to play football. Lasted two years, had to give it up. And he was a 34 act dude. Got all the family brains unfortunately....

Bluegrasspreps' Class 1A Pre-Season Preview
Did I hear that the annual Frankfort match in the quarters has been eliminated due to realignment? That would be one team. Raceland IMO is the team to beat, and as the article mentions Russelville has to feel even more relief than BW does that the 800 lb gorilla is gone

Beechwood's Brett Slusher Offer?
Don't know where, but it's about time!!! Kids a game changer on the bases, and I saw that tweet that he got a 30 on his ACT. Full package.

Name a team you really love to dislike
I have 2. Highlands for obvious reasons. They are the bell cow around these parts, a program every one wants to be. Kinda like the Yankees or Alabama. Other is SK for exect opposite. They have parlayed creative scheduling into a false sense of superiority, while they have accomplished nothing other that being the best 6a school in an awful stretch of 6a football. Loved last year when Dixie pummeled them twice, will love this year when Ryle does the same.

Lafayette's Wills Rare Five-Star Recruit
Yet Alabama, OhioState, Florida State, LSU etc continue to somehow win with rosters loaded with those over rated high stars kids. And the first round stays packed with those same kids. Terrible. Are there misses? Of course. For the most part it works.

7 on 7s?
Please stop. Save the teenager arguments for UK fan. It was an omission, my fault. But why would I have an axe to grind with Cooper? They are even steven, rarely good or rarely bad at anything. Would be like having an axe to grind with Austria. Only schools I have axes with are HHS and SK. Don't flatter yourself.

7 on 7s?
Things to note. How many of Coopers skill players play and are still playing baseball? Ryle? I can assure you BW was down several players, or at least kids that are just getting back. Braves just wrapped up, was Slusher there? Burns will be missed, but he was not their deep threat last year, Slusher was. The staff elected to get it in Burns hands early and let him run. Was Stringer there? Don't think he's even practiced yet, Skins are still playing. That's two big names both sides of ball, and even if they were there not sure what shape they are in. Fieger also baseball kid, doubt he's in mid season form either. These issues always hinder BW in these shirts and helmet video game scrimmages, which is why I place zero value in them. If they mattered, from what I've read in here SK would have 5 rings in a row

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't this happen a while ago? Seems to me I remember seeing it on PBR Twitter.

1A Favorite
I've posted it before, I think we are all highly over valuing the Tigers. They lost a ton. Lost three fantastic seniors on the OLine, and perhaps the best player on the team and a fourth OL starter has decided to not play his senior year. Yes the skill kids are really good and have played a lot of football, but four new starters on that OL will be tough to overcome. On D, they've lost the majority of the DLine, with only a part time kid from last year back. No starters. Only Slusher returns at LB, and they've lost the entire defensive backfield. One player does not make s team I know, but the Combs kid would really change things if he would have a change of heart and come back. This team has far too many unknowns for me to name them the overwhelming favorite. They start the season with road trips to Lloyd, Somerset, and Ironton. All those are potential Ls, then come home to play Cov Cath who might be a bit angry? I think this is the year a team from the East wins it, whether that's Raceland or Pikeville or someone else.

Beechwood 2015
Good to see humility still alive and well in Mayfield.

Highlands Ricky Raisor gets D1 offer!!!
Good to get that in state offer. Not his first, but I do believe first in state? With the minimal money baseball gets state tuition certainly helps

Meinken makeover
One of those all turf things? Man I hope not, IMO that ruins the entire project. Those things are awful, either don't get seated right, move, not big enough for older players, not steep enough, whatever. That's like buying a Mercedes and getting cloth seats. Surely they aren't going to do that?

Kash Daniel receives offers from South Carolina, UK, UofL
And the biggest benefit is you get the holidays off.

Summer Baseball!
Watched a good game in Amelia yesterday. Rick Raisor was on the hill for the Midland Braves vs the the Midland Redskins. Rick pitched well, Skins lineup is flat loaded with D1 commits. He left after 5 down 4-1, Redskins threw Rodney Hutchinson, Mason grad and UNC signee. Brett Slusher was in CF for Braves and had a hit off Hutch. Ethan Stringer was in CF and Brayden Combs at 1b for Skins. Combs hit ball hard couple times and had a single, Stringer walked 2x and took a 86 mph heater in the back(Skins set up a radar gun right behind home plate, kinda fun to sit there and watch each pitch). Was a great NKy showcase. Two teams go again today, Ziggy from Ryle gets the ball for Braves vs Nick Bennet, the big lefty from Moe and a Louisville commit. Should be another good one. I can't make it, but will be following via game changer. Raisor has had a great summer, talked to a couple of the Skins kids sitting behind HP. Was pulled up to pitch a game for Skins in a tourney, and was offered immediately after by Appalachian State. Followed that up with a 1 hitter vs Chet Lemons Juice in Nashville. The Juice is one of the top teams in Florida and in country, and was noticed by many other D1 coaches. Great summer for him.

Blaine Gillim Continues to Impress for Scorpions and Top College Scouts
If he is in Florida doubt it. Scorpions are a great organization. I guess I would ask why is he playing for an older directional team vs playing for the Prime squad at his own age? If those numbers are accurate he would certainly fit that team. Any Scorpions roster is loaded, but like Evoshield the top players play on the top team.

Highlands Austin Hergott Commits
Any more evidenced needed as to what holds more weight, HS film vs camp performance? Proof positive what can happen if your HS coach has connections, and you then get to camps and perform. Great news for Austin, and an amazing run at QB for HHS continues.

High School Football Program Choice and Next Level Recruiting
Hmm. You mean kids that have actually been through the process? Yet some will still argue that HS football tape matters. It's a piece. But in the grand scheme it's irrelevant. It's summer camps for football. It's high level select travel baseball. It's AAU hoops. That's where coaches are. You guys that think summer camps are money grabbers are partially correct, because there are dads everywhere that thinks Jr can go ply at Ohio State or Alabama and keeps shelling out the dough. For the true D1 athlete, they are the basis for recognition. HS sports are a dinosaur when discussing recruiting. No way Kash Daniels get recruited out of Paintsville. Not by SEC schools. He went to camp, and his testimonial tells you what did it for him. Yet some continue to live under a rock and argue.

Summer Baseball!
That's a solid roster. Is that Mullins team?

Meinken makeover
Drove by here today. They are doing it right, turf is going down. Looks like they are prepping it to be a multi purpose field. Most of infield is in, and left field. Alternating shades of green in the OF in a stripe pattern, like Oregons football field. Looks like OF is being set up for football, as all stripes are perfectly horizontal to LF line running perpendicular to RF line, they were to about 2b. Looks great, that is going to be an awesome addition to not only the Covington community but all of local HS baseball.

The Top Five Gameday Stadiums In Kentucky
Ludlow has done a great job renovating their facilities. Atmosphere has always been great, love it when a barge goes by, feels like it's right on the field. Have to disagree with Newport. That stadium has reached "dump" status.

Best Trio?
BW will have three 3 year starters to roll out at QB RB and WR in Fieger Stringer and Slusher. That's as strong as it gets
