Ram Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 What does Beechwood need to do to improve in 2015? What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive.
Toothpick Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 I look forward to hearing what the Beechies have to say on this. I recall G saying in another thread that this is a pivotal year for Rash. Which I took to mean that now that the Monster from the West has left that nothing less than some titles will be acceptable. With the return of the experienced QB I look for the Tigers to be the favorite if they can have a balanced offense and get decent line play which they should
CoachBuckett Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 Can anyone speak to the offensive line? I would say everything starts up front for BW.
Bac2369 Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 From a look at the roster they should have a senior dominate line again.
uk#1fan Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 Their line should be good. Stringer and Soward should be able to run the ball and have a good season.
Voice of Reason Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 Beechwood graduated a large, talented senior class. However, the Tigers return some very talented skill players - QB Kyle Fieger, RB Ethan Stringer, WR Brett Slusher. The line will need to be rebuilt but there are experienced juniors who have worked hard and waited their turn that should be more than capable. The line will be built around returning starter Justin Overstreet who will very likely be the next Beechwood lineman to get a D1 scholarship. The Tigers have the talent to go all the way but there will not be the depth of the last couple season so injuries could be a factor.
RH1183 Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Underclassmen will play a huge role in this years group of players. As was stated, this group of incoming seniors...most of which have played valuable minutes the last couple of years...some have only gotten their "feet wet". The skill players will be fine. It will be how the group of linemen gel with some inexperience telling the tale. Lineman will start with Overstreet with other incoming Seniors Hermes, Rowe and Sherron. Underclassmen will need to step up in order to control games from both sides of the line. JMO
Bac2369 Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 So does any of the fans think that this offensive line will be as good as last year?
Voice of Reason Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 So does any of the fans think that this offensive line will be as good as last year? No. Last year's offensive line for Beechwood was one of their better ones in recent years. It isn't often that 1A Beechwood can line up against a top level 4A-6A school, play smash mouth football and just run it down the team's throat even though they know it is coming. Beechwood did that last year against Covington Catholic and Franklin County. Last year's line was excellent and this year's line can only hope to get close to that level. That being said, I believe this year's line will be a good one by the end of the year. It may be rough the first few games against the top level competition as they get used to playing together.

Does he have interest from D1? Is he bigger than his brother who was a giant and didn't play the next level?

What does the schedule look like for next year?
Voice of Reason Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 What does the schedule look like for next year? I don't know and probably won't know till just before the season. Perhaps someone else can let us know. I did hear a rumor that there was discussion about getting Mayfield on the schedule. No kidding.

Distance and cost make it unrealistic not to mention its time for Bw to start the healing process and let NCC have their turn
Bac2369 Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 Does Beechwood usually do two year contracts or four.
