He is not playing.

Any chance he is trying to graduate early and enroll at Kentucky for the spring semester.

Fieger has been Beechwood's starting QB since his freshman year correct?

I think so.

He played frosh ball that year and then took over in the playoffs. Might have been an injury to the starter. Not sure.

^ I believe that is true because I remember hearing about it. He's been an excellent QB. I am eager for football season to get underway.

Fieger was a Freshman and took his first Varsity snap in Round 1 of the state playoffs and threw 5 TD passes. He and other Freshmen were forced into action that game due to the suspension of 18 players but I cannot remember if the regular Varsity QB was part of the suspension or hurt. Many felt Fieger was the best QB in the system regardless and was ready to play and he showed he was.

Wow. Thats hard to fathom. Good baseball player, but better football player and is built and moves more like a football player. Not here to judge, but passing up your senior year with all your brothers you have shed so much blood and sweat with? I quit basketball after my sophomore year to concentrate on baseball. Regret it to this day. As for graduating early, never heard of that for baseball. That's a football thing so you can participate in spring practice. No benefit for baseball. I hope the kid changes his mind if this is true. Maybe Noel can shed some brevity.

Would shock me. If you've ever watched him play he seems to have so much fun on the field. That said, he is much more built for baseball. Prototypical size and measurables for a corner OF. Urban Meyer has gone on record as saying he prefers two sport athletes because of what it affords to training. Man, BW could go from preseason favorite to border line top 10 if these kids don't play.

Beechwood is pre season number 1 no matter if those kids don't play. I do think there chances of winning it all is better if they play. Those kids will be missed on both sides of the ball if they do not play.

My son goes to Beechwood and has told me Combs isn't playing, Stringer is returning for his senior season and that rumors of Bankemper playing again have been going around

Well that's good for Beechwood. Combs has a while to think about it before the season starts so he may change his mind.

Those kids will play. Like most kids just want to be stroked a little. Wasnt this the same theme that BW fans discussed last season. Kids not playing.

Defense wins championships, and this team will have to work hard to try and reload. Finck and McKown made a big centerpiece for that defense, and will likely be replaced by Overstreet and Soward, both are athletic enough to take their places. Soward lacks in strength more, and Overstreet is just as good, if not better, in the weightroom as McKown. No D-Ends return(combs is sticking to baseball). Joey Sherron and Dalton Everett are likely to replace them, both are not what their predecessors were, but after a few games they can easily get into the rhythm. Really the big difference maker this year is not stepping up to the plate, but The Plates(weightroom). Last year's class was not mostly in baseball. Key leaders are in baseball this year(stringer Slusher fieger Rowe Sherron Way. Others that aren't seniors are Benson and Soward) and not in the weightroom getting stronger. Cardio will also be a kicker, last year's class allowed McKown and Finck to be virtually one way players, being able to lead defense well. With a loss of so many starters, the fitness of this team will be huge in replacing so many in both sides
