Ludlows problem is they are completely one dimensional. Blackburn and Martin are good players, but not good enough to make up for the fact that the defense knows that one of them is getting the ball almost 100% of the time.

6 classes, IMO only top 2 in each district make it. If you go to 4 classes, current format, top 4. Just too many. Other than the famous "lock em in" process I fail to see any merit in 90% of these games. I would be ok with 3 teams, give 1 seed a bye also.

I can assure you that the people making the schedules are versed in what they need to ensure playoff trips if they achieve success during the regular season. Opposed to in KY they are rewarded for playing a good schedule, like in the NCAA. A 6a school--clears throat-- that refuses to schedule other good 6a schools and fills in gaps with 2a-4a schools would risk missing playoffs, even at 10-0

Why? I prefer it. The regular season actually matters. You have to earn the playoffs, no more powder puff scheduling to pad a record. Even if you get in, the prior 10 weeks rewards the best teams. I don't like Kentucky give everyone a trophy format. There will be running clocks all over the state Friday night , only thing that can happen is a star player gets hurt. I also prefer the neutral site and alternating Fridsy and Saturday night schedule.

They will come back with references to Ryle, Highlands and CCH and how much those games helped them. They are happy with 10-0 regular seasons in Independence. That's fine, but don't get upset when the rest of the state can clearly see how you got there and refuses the respect they so adamantly demand. I would respect an 8-2 SK that would lose to a couple heavy weights far more than these paper tigers they've been trotting out there.

Call me when a 6a school from NKY is still playing vs the varsity in the second half in BG. Trinity could go undefeated every year too if they scheduled like your boys do. Same with Male/St X and Scott County. The choose to sacrifice that unblemished record by scheduling tough to prep for what matters.

West certainly appears to be the easier path this year, East is 1a murderers row. I still think Pikeville comes out of there and wins it all over BW

Maybe the big boys in NKY need to stop scheduling inferior opponents to pad the record and go play someone, at least then they can gauge what they need to compete?
