Biggest surprise has to be 1A Bishop Brossart, for a team that a year ago was on the verge of ceasing operation to 6-0 is AWESOME. The drop from 2A to 1A should have happened years ago.

Agree on a great feel good story, but what does the drop to 1a have to do with their record?

Drop to 1A helps a lot. Play a very very very weak schedule to collect wins to try to improve #s . Whats more important # of wins or getting better every week and making a big playoff run? I take a run to state any day of the week.

I wouldn't go as far as KyJoe and say very, very, very, weak schedule.......but improving the numbers on the football team by winning games helps in the long run.

Regarding Brossart, sometimes the planets just align in a special way for a program that had struggled in the past. There have been other examples before, such as Holy Cross in 2011.

1A basketball tournament is for smallest 125 schools

Because of their enrollment numbers.

There are no classes in basketball, but if you are referring to the "All-A" Classic they are not KHSAA sponsored and use a different cut-off number to determine eligibility than KHSAA does. There are many "2A" schools that qualify for the ALL A such as Lexington Christian.

Im happy to see the wins dont get me wrong. But you still need a few games a season to shoot for not a bunch of games you should win pretty easy for the most part. Holy Cross improved and won state beating some bigger better teams.

Ludlow, Nicholas county, and Aiken are all decent teams. Bellevue was supposed to be a decent team too. Last year we lost to Dayton, ludlow, Pendleton. By no means are we playing teams that we "should win pretty easy" this is a team that almost didn't exist last year. You think we shod have schedule a harder schedule for a team that went 1-8 last year and almost disbanded ? That seems ridiculous to me
