I hope we get to see Jake play some this year. He needs needs needs to get tougher mentally and physically. If he does those two things, and with his size, he could be the highest level basketball recruit to ever come out of CCH.

When you say partners, what do you mean exactly? It has to be more than just getting apparel, shoes, and bags, right? And I'm assuming this means the players will get those things for free, because otherwise I don't think this is news.

Cole has improved as much as anyone this summer. I watched him consistently score on some alums who play/played high level college ball. It's amazing what desire and discipline can do.

CJ is undersized, but has the heart of a lion. Both Weyer and Fleming play extremely hard every time they step on the court. Parents should be proud.

Team has nothing to do with it, in any sport. All based on ability. There are kids on my team whose high school team won the state championship, and kids whose high school team won less than 10 games in a season.

Cole is currently sitting out with what looks like a pretty decent sprained ankle. He'll probably only be out for a week or two. Wishing him a speedy recovery. He has also received some interest from Notre Dame and Creighton.

Congrats to Matt and family! Every time I see him play/play against him, he's always playing his absolute hardest. Cannot ask for much more!

To a lot of CCH faithful beating Highlands is the number 1 goal. I don't get it, but that's how a lot of people look at the season.

I was set on going there for so long! Sounds like between this and their coach voluntarily getting tased, Centre football is a fun team to play on.

I remember games being called because of heat in years past. I didn't know we were talking about the Beechwood game specifically (I wasn't there.) I was more talking about my senior year, which I agree, it was sad to see the empty stands in the second half.

How often? Often. Football on Saturday afternoons when its 85 degrees out is just not where most of the 15-18 year olds want to spend their time losing their voice for the next few days. It's really unbelievable that this thread exists.

If Bundy is still running it is is run well I'd bet. I played in it years ago. Extremely physical games.

CVH and Flood will be the go-to guys, in that order. I've heard good things about CJ Fredrick and Aiden Ruthsatz is playing well. Mayor is athletic but needs to be tougher. Ziegelmeyer is a question mark to me since he basically hasn't played since freshman year. I heard Heppler was done for good, but if you guys (above) say he could play that would be good. Whether he plays or not, I think Jake Walter will play a role. Its tough to sit size like that out. To 3 peat would be tough, but when the ball is in CVH's hand, I think this team can compete with most of the teams in the state.

@82Cards 's point #5 is easily the most important. It is tough. You may reach out to 50 coaches and only get 5 responses, and of those 5, three of them may be a generic camp invite via email. But creating contact and relationships with those other 2 coaches (in the above example) is important. Even if your child has no desire to go to that school, the connection creates 1. A possible fallback school in case others fall through, and 2. you can use that school as leverage when being recruited by other coaches. There is a limit to how much coaches can call players, however, players may contact coaches as much as they'd like. And coaches are very impressed when the player his/herself can reach out and hold a conversation themselves. Congrats to CVH. If he can continue to improve his jumper and spend time in the weight room, he could be legit mid-major IMO.

Big Brother is coming.

No teams are set at this point, but that would mean 60 kids are trying out and coaches tried to split them up for scrimmage purposes. Come October, there is no way they have 3 teams.
