"Playing at a class A school doesn't give you the total qualification of playing in College"? This was a statement brought up on another site, I just want to get thoughts and opinions on this issue.

 

 

Personally I think no matter what class you play in, if you talented enough you can go off and play college ball.

You are correct. When kids go to camps they evaluate them physically and skill wise. Size of school is a non-factor when they get to see you up close and personal.

College recruiters don't care what class you play in. TheY care about your ability.

If you are good and go to camps etc. doesn't matter what size of school you play at, you can play at the next level.

If all they see is film then the class/competition level will factor in somewhat.

Team has nothing to do with it, in any sport. All based on ability.

 

There are kids on my team whose high school team won the state championship, and kids whose high school team won less than 10 games in a season.

Zach West the starting LG at UK played at a 1 A high school. Kash Daniel is on his way to UK next year from a 1A school.

That's just like saying NAIA college players can't go pro. Someone has no clue what they are talking about.

Just looking to clarify a bit...you originally said "A1 football" and "class A school", and in the quoted post you said "1A football". In case it's confusing anyone, are you talking about playing football for a team in the single-A classification in Kentucky, or are you talking about playing A1/class A football, as in playing for a 'top notch' football program?

Smaller schools, Yes Class A or 1A. I thought they were the same, sorry.

Shoot, Beechwood has 7 kids from last years team playing college football, all about ability.

Several kids from Beechwood are starting on College Olines.

Semantics, really...they all can pretty be used interchangeably. Just wanted to clarify in case you might have meant the other way around.

There are an awful lot of 1A football players playing college football right now for them to not be good enough.
