CovCath Internet Radio Suffers A Great Loss

Featured Replies

Covcath I Radio has been "on the air" since November of 2005 and Mark Wehry has been the voice.

The voice you never heard yet if you listened regularly you felt like was part of the broadcast team was that of "Brother Bill."

Bill Wehry died yesterday after a battle with cancer. Class of 1972 at CCH.

Having had the chance to do some games on air with Mark Wehry I always considered "Brother Bill" to be the CCH SID. Dude had a memory like no other. He could recall games from the 70s with so much detail you'd think it just happened yesterday.

He also enjoyed talking about the game afterwards. Mark and I did a game in Johnson Central and Bill called on the way home to offer his critique. If you didn't cut him off he would talk to you the entire 3 hour ride home.

CCH broadcasts will never be the same.

CCH lost a great Colonel.

So much goes on behind the scenes to make great organizations great. Glad you "sang" to us about this unsung hero to the CCH family.

Very sad news. Prayers to the Wehry Family and sincerest appreciation for all they have done and continue to do for Covington Catholic.

Sad news for me. I knew Bill a long time but hadn't seen him in a few years. My prayers and sincerest condolences to the Wehry family. "With a spirit that will not die."

Great post Clyde, and condolences to the Wehry family. Brother Bill wasn't just a huge part of the show, he did so much in advance to help Mark and his various color analysts prepare that it made the broadcasts so much better. I hope his family has some extra strength during this very tough time.

Condolences to the Wehry family, and the CovCath community. So sad to lose such an important supporter of any school.

Brother Bill was the man. This is terribly saddening and prayers to the entire Wehry family.

So sad to hear...cancer sucks. Way to young for Bill to go. I never knew him but have met Mark and he is a class act and from what everyone is saying, so was Bill. Prayers to the family.

Thanks so much for the kind words about Brother Bill The Producer. He was with me since day 1. He was a true blue Colonel. He loved Covcath so much. And nothing made him happier than that basketball state title. He died a happy man. I read your messages to my Mother. She was so truly moved. Keep them coming.

Bill devised a system for determining how much better one team was vs another. It was amazing how accurate he was.

Very sad to hear this news. Cancer seems to effect us all now a days - typically always bad. My heart felt condolences to CovCath Nation.

Sorry to hear of this loss to the CCH family, prayers for his family and friends.

So sad to hear. Thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Wehry family and the CCH community.
