Prayers to the family. Every broadcast I've listened to has a "check-in from Brother Bill." Will definitely be missed.

Bill will be buried with his CCH state championship hat.

Great turnout for the visitation and funeral mass this morning at Mother of God.

 

I got to the visitation towards the end. Good to see Bob Rowe, Mike Guidugli, and Tony Bacigalupo, and Joe Fredrick.

 

Awesome , but no surprise , to see Mike Listerman and his beautiful wife.

 

My guy @B-Ball-fan was there as well.

Mark told a great story about "Brother Bill." As many of you know Bill simply didn't miss any broadcasts. He always checked in early with a "sounds good" email to Mark. No one has listened to more broadcasts live than Bill.

 

Mark was asked to be his niece's sponsor for Confirmation. It was slated to be on the same day as the Sweet 16 state championship game. Lo' and behold CCH not only makes the S16 but advances. Mark was torn. Great honor to be asked but also a rare opportunity to call a state championship game.

 

Who stepped up? Brother Bill. He took Mark's place so that Mark could have the opportunity, maybe once-in-a-lifetime, to call the game.

That was a great story. I wanted so much to applaud, and I just bet that I wasn't the only one with the urge to. Bill was a great guy.

 

It always amazes me the gift Mark has of being able to speak in front of a large crowd. I'd be a mess. The nuns at good old St. Aloysius saw this special trait in him way back and is why they'd make him the MC at school plays etc...

I should mention that Coach L was supposed to be out of town starting on Friday. Made changes to his schedule so that he could be in town Friday for the Wehry family.

 

Said it before and I'll say it again - he's a good cat.

Thanks again to everyone for helping to remember Brother Bill The Producer in this thread. I want to make sure everyone knows the rest of the story about Billy filling in for me when I was asked to be a sponsor. He volunteered. I never would have asked him. He insisted. When a passion collided with family, Brother Bill always put family first.
